In the DNA where Early-Onset Alzheimer's has been found, the flaws were found in related genes of chromosomes 1 and 14, and developed before the age 60. But it is much more rare to get Early-Onset Alzheimer's.

There are six different combinations which are e2/e2, e2/e3, e2/e4 e3/e3, e3/e4, e4/e4. e2 slightly reduces the risk of getting Alzheimer's while e4 is associated with the increased risk of getting it.

Alzheimer's is a disease as people grow old. Alzheimer's can impact a persons life heavily or mildly. An example will be experiencing greater memory loss, wandering/getting lost, etc. Another impact would be is having a caregiver or getting put into a nursing home. Life with Alzheimer's is not easy because they have a lot of obstacle to get through. There stages 7 stages of Alzheimer's, Stage 1: No Impairment (not detectable), Stage 2: Very mild, Stage 3: Mild, Stage 4: Moderate decline, Stage 5: Moderately severe decline, Stage 6: Severe decline and Stage 7: Very severe decline.

Since Alzheimer's has no cure, there are some current ALZ medication for people with memory symptoms and and other cognitive changes. Two drugs that are currently use to treat cognitive symptoms are Cholinesterase Inhibitors. They are used to boost levels of cell-to-cell communication by preserving a chemical messenger t hat is depleted into the brain by Alzheimer's disease. They also improve neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as agitation or depression. When prescribed the Cholinesterase Inhibitors include donepezil (Aricept, galantamine (Razadyne and rivastigmine (Exelon). Another medication is Memantine (Namenda). It works in another brain cell communication network and slows the progression of the symptoms with moderate to severe AlZ. It sometimes in combination with a cholinsterase inhibitor.
