         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Ruler From: </em></strong><em><br>Augustus was the first Roman emperor from </em><strong><em>27 BC</em></strong><em> until his death in AD 14.<br></em><strong><em>Accomplishments:</em></strong></div><ol><li>Augustus Caesar&nbsp; restored and maintained peace in the city of Rome, also known as the Pax Romana</li><li><em>He made peace with the Parthian Empire, reformed taxation, developed roads and established a courier system.&nbsp;</em></li><li><em>&nbsp;August kept Rome free from any major form of conflict for more than two centuries.</em></li></ol><div><strong><em>Interesting facts: </em></strong><em>is great-uncle and adoptive father Julius Caesar.</em></div><ol><li><em>Julius Caesar was Augustus's great uncle and adopted father.</em></li><li><em>Augustus was born on September 23, 63 B.C. and Augustus grew up in a town about 25 miles southeast of Rome.&nbsp;</em></li><li><em>Augustus was not his birth name. Originally he was named Gaius Octavius, he changed his name to Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus, aka Octavian, upon being adopted by his great-uncle.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Ruler From: </strong>fourteenth Emperor of Rome from <strong>10 August</strong> 117 to <strong>10 July</strong>138 CE<br><strong>Accomplishments:</strong></div><ol><li>Hadrian had a good mind for military strategy. He&nbsp; kept the army intact, well-supplied and well-trained.&nbsp;</li><li>Hadrian's policy was to maintain peace through strength. He built a series walls all around the Empire along strategic areas like the Danube and Rhine rivers. The most famous of these is <strong>Hadrian's Wall</strong>, an 80-mile wall that spans the entire latitudinal width of Britain from sea to sea.</li></ol><div><strong>Interesting Facts:</strong></div><ol><li>Hadrian was born in Rome on Jan. 24, 76.&nbsp;</li><li>He was a powerful ruler committed to strengthening the Empire. Hadrian oversaw several important building projects, including the <strong>Temple of Venus and Roma</strong> and <strong>Hadrian's Wall</strong>.</li><li>Hadrian was one of the Five Good Emperors of Rome.</li><li>Hadrian's full name was "Publius Aelius Hadrianus" (who lived from 76 AD to 138 AD) was born to a senator of the Roman Senate. His family settled in Spain.</li><li>Hadrian joined the Roman military at a young age and worked his way up the ranks. </li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Ruler From: <br></strong>was Roman Emperor from 96 to 98. <br><br><strong>Accomplishments:</strong></div><ol><li>He built aqueducts, worked on the transport system, and built granaries to improve the food supply.</li><li>He released people who had been imprisoned</li><li>&nbsp;He prohibited slaves and freedmen from charging their masters with treason or adopting a Jewish lifestyle.&nbsp;</li><li>Nerva destroyed Domitian's arches and statues, using the gold and silve. He gave property to those from whom it had been taken by his predecessor and put senators in charge of a land allotment to the poor.</li></ol><div><strong>Interesting Facts:</strong></div><ol><li><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Nerva was born November 8, A.D. 30. His family was from Narnia, in Umbria</li><li>Nerva was one of the first "Five Good Emperors"</li><li>&nbsp;Nerva was the first to adopt an heir who wasn't part of his biological family. Nerva had been a friend of the Flavians without children of his own.&nbsp;</li><li>In January 98 Nerva had a stroke. He died three weeks later. Trajan, his successor, had Nerva's ashes put in the mausoleum of Augustus and asked the Senate to deify him.</li></ol><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Ruler From: </strong>Titus was Roman Emperor from 79-81 AD<br><strong>Accomplishments:</strong></div><ol><li>&nbsp;His works while in office included completing the Colossem, responding to the Mount Vesuvius eruption of 79 and taking care of his people after a fire in Rome in 80.</li></ol><div><strong>Interesting Facts:</strong></div><ol><li>&nbsp;He was a well-respected military commander before replacing his father as Roman Emperor.</li><li>Titus died on 13 September 81. He died of a fever and  died at the same farm house where his father died. After Titus' death, he was succeeded by his younger brother, Domitian.</li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>
