         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Scotland crime statistics are recorded by the police with two types of stats reported and recorded. Recorded crimes is when someone reports it to the police and they decide to record it. Reported means that someone tells the police about a crime that has occurred. However, it must be remembered that not all crimes are recorded in the end by the police. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Recent crime figures from 2017-18 sat at 244,504, the most recorded crimes in Scotland are crimes of dishonesty with 114,474 crimes of this type recorded between 2017-18. The Police in Scotland also solved 49.5% of crimes. Scotland, especially the city of Glasgow, used to be one of the most violent places, however due to the efforts of the government with the introduction of crime prevention schemes-such as the violence reduction unit- this has changed drastically. <br>The below graph shows that crime has been falling in cities in Scotland from 2007-2017. In 2007-08 in Glasgow there was 70,000 recorded crimes and by 2016-17 that number had fallen to around 45,000, in just under 10 years </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The diagram below shows that crimes have decreased by 27% during the years of 2009-10, with only a 1% increase in 2017-18. This also proves that crimes of dishonesty are in fact the highest with 46% with non-sexual crimes of violence being the lowest with 3% of all recorded crimes. <br><br></div>]]></description>
