The beautiful dresses, the stunning flowers, the celebration of love- everything about it has brought me so much joy. Because of this, I am pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management, which can apply to wedding planning. I will need to get certified in wedding planning itself, but having a degree in Hospitality Management certainly helps with getting a job. A wedding planner's job is to take all the stress off of the couple to be married. Instead of them having to worry about the venue, the catering, the placemats, etc., the wedding planner guides them through the process of planning their wedding in a stress-free way. Wedding planners can make anywhere between $27k-64k a year, depending on how many clients they get. According to stereotype, being the youngest sibling indicates that I skirt most criticism and get spoiled. This is mostly true, but I don't think I'm necessarily spoiled in comparison to my sisters. My parents, Matt and Kristin, have been excellent role models in my life. My mom has been a great example of hard work and doing your best in every situation. My dad shows me how to find the positive things in life and to always see the best in people. Essentially, brides schedule an appointment with us, and I help them find their dream wedding dress in their desired style and budget! Not only do I get to earn money by playing dress up all day, but I get to play a part in another woman's love story. It is the most rewarding thing in the world to find a bride the dress that she will marry the love of her life in and see in pictures for the rest of her life. I love seeing their faces light up when they've found the "one", and I love to build connections with each individual woman that comes in. It was really frustrating at first because it takes a lot of practice and requires perfect technique, but it has been so rewarding! I just recently finished a granny square cardigan (as pictured), and I'm working on a sweater for my boyfriend! I've also made blankets for my niece and nephew. I absolutely love gift giving, and I love giving something I've poured my time and heart into that's handmade! If I could, I would spend all day in a recliner, crocheting and watching a tv show. I've really skipped the "teenager" phase of staying up late and partying. My family adopted my dog, Max, when I was just 5 years old. Over the years, I've had so much fun taking care of him and enjoying his grumpy, old man energy. This past June, at the age of 12, Max passed away due to some serious health complications. However, this hasn't stopped my love for all sorts of animals! Any chance I have, I love to interact with the neighbors' cats, and I enjoy talking to other people about their pets!
