I do beleive that weakness yields to temptation. Every day we have different temptations such as gluttony, gloth, lust... And it is true that it´s up to us to fight against them and not fall for them. But even the strongest people (mentaly speaking) fall and break. I beleive that temptations prevent us from being what we truly want to be: perfect. Nobody is perfect and that is because everyone, at least once, has fallen into a temptation. Carlota García-Argüelles Bach2F

In my opinion, what yields to temptation besides the weakness (considering that the temptations carry out inconveniences) is the willpower which really makes you avoid terrible temptations and we all have some, either for doing homework or to know what's right and what's wrong.
Nevertheless, as all my classmates say, everyone has fallen for temptations even Adam and Eve, humans created by Lord. This shows that anyone is perfect and everyone is free.
Moreover, I have to add that even if we don't want to fall for temptations there's a part of us which wants to do what you supposed don't want to do, like eating chocolate (if you're in diet).

If we consider weakness as a lack of character, we can let ourselves be carried away by temptation. But, sometimes, tempatation is presented as a challenge to which we must face, and to fight our weakness we decided to face temptation with the intention of overcoming it and get to improve our character, wich leads us to suffer hardships to face temptation. On the other hand, there are temptations such as suicide that require great strength to fall into that temptation. Antonio Cid Daviña - B2F

I think that everyone is on the same situation when it comes to talk about temptations. But I think that weakness is precipitation under that temptation. Even when you are strong sometimes we fall in the temptation but by being stronger than the weak you will think about the consequences before falling into it. For example when you have to do some homework with a date setted on but you are too lazy to start and leave it for the last day. The strong person may fall in the temptation but will think that for sure they will not finish in time so they instead do it 2 or 3 days before. It is not about not falling in temptation but when terrible temptations come across the stronger person will have to make the most effort to not fall on it, while in weakness you will just fall.

María Rosa del Río Escobar, B2C

Temptation is ussually defined as something negative (for the sorrow of many). This can be shown very clearlly on the example Isabel talked about. When Adam and Eve falled into temptation they were punished by god. Although fall into temptation looks like the easier path you should avoid it. This is way I think strong people are those that can keep away from temptation, and don't take the easy way.

It has been notably observed that everyone has fallen at least once into temptation. Maybe you finished that piece of cake that your sister was saving for later, or maybe you slept for "just a couple more minutes". In any of the cases, we can appreciate that not only can we fall into temptation, but that not a single person in this world is immune to it.

We hang on to temptation as an open door that leads to happiness and physical pleasure, as it is usually linked to the desire of something that will calm down the anxiety that you are either suffering physically or mentally (referring to anxiety as the feeling of discomfort that we sense because of an action or thought).

Thus, a temptation, although probably - yet surely - having horrendous consequences, such as getting into a fight with your sibling, or being late to work or school (as we have seen in the previous explained examples), can be at first sight a pleasant solution for your problems, as its definition says.

There are of course people that can sustain the influence of temptation much more than others, therefore, not being affected by the effects of said results. These people, have a more powerful and resistant mind than others, as the mind controls the body and not the other way around. It all depends on the will power that each person has in their mind.

To finalize this opinion, I must say that as much as they appear to be good, temptations aren’t usually the best solution to our problems, and of course, one can have a strong mentality, but will eventually yield to them; even if it is the smallest temptation.

Oliver J.Bartek B2C

Absolutely every person on Earth suffers temptation, that is inherent to human nature. We can recognise a temptation by the way it attracts us: a temptation is something to which a part of us desires to yield to, while another part of us warns us against it. Whether we want to believe it or not, deep within we know what we are supposed to do, what we must do. Sometimes these so-called temptations are only referred to as such because they are "taboos" for society, or because we have been warned by others not to yield to those. But deep in our hearts we know if that certain something is worth yielding to or not. Usually it takes a lot of courage to resist to actual temptations, and even if we do fail, we have the opportunity to "redeem" ourselves by admitting our mistake and standing back up. However, it also takes a lot of strength to be able to tell apart actual temptations and prohibitions. Such prohibitions have sunk so deep into our consciences that we see them as something wrong. In this case, it takes even greater strength and courage to "yield" to that false temptation. The easy option is following the crowds and refusing to stand up by ourselves. The right decision might be something that will tear us apart from that which we hold dear, and only the bravest will be able to follow their hearts wherever they may take them. Raquel Romero González, B2B

Though yielding to temptation is commonly seen as frailness of will, certain acts can require strength of will in order to be carried out due to possible risks and dangers, this can be seen in modern times in any kind of risky finacial venture, which can yield significant profit but also lead to financial ruin. This can also be seen in historical events, such as that of Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon in order to take over the Roman Republic (temptation being power and the risks being defeat and death).

An alternative way of interpreting this quote is that it takes strength and valour to carry out acts done out of selfless reasons which can be seen as falling to temptation (temptation as in selfish reasons) as though they may lead to infamy or damnation, a person with resolve to see them through will carry on so their intended goal may be achieved. We can see this in the classic example of a person who steals in order to feed his loved ones or, looking again at History, at the case of the Baltic SS Legions (1st Estonian, 1st and 2nd Latvian) as their fight for Nazi Germany would lead to their condemnation at the eyes of the world, yet their wish to see their countrymen live in better condition and eventually win back their independence as a nation made them continue with their struggle.
B2B Peyton Tan

Firstly I would say that weakness yields to temptations, but if I continue thinking, I reach the conclusion that it doesn't.

Sincerely, I wouldn't know what to answer, but I had to take a decision, I would answer that it depends on the temptation type, depending if it's on your interest or if the obhective you want to reach is.

Based on my expirience, weakness yields on temptation, beacause most of the time weakness won.

Ilias Lacheri Zahri B2°A

All thoughout the ages, and especially in Christianity the act of falling to temptation has been seen as sinful and a weakness of the soul, and it is a belief that still endures, thus this quote might seem silly at first, however, it is neither in context, nor the full quote, the whole quote has all that this excerpt from it seems to lack. And that lacking knowledge is that the quote seems to justify falling to your traps, instead of this, the full quote indicates that some temptations and some actions that requiere risking your lot should not be seen as a lack of strength. To have the strength to go deep into the abyss, risking it all in your way down armed with only the knowledge that it is from the deepest depths that the hightest peaks rise, that, should be regarded as strength, all in all I think Oscar Wilde tried to tell us that there are some temptations and thoughts that require strength to unearth. -Arturo Pastor Beato B2C

The word 'temptation' make us directly think about something bad. It is the wish of doing something that attracts curious or impulsive people but yet it is not convenient for them because of their way of life. I feel like temptation is for everybody, but only the weak use it to cause harm such as disloyalty, lies, and dishonor. Strong people use it to discover new good feelings and emotions such as painters, actors, athletes, etc. Sara Deygas B2F

I don't necessarily believe that temptation is directly caused by weakness, as it is not something that is only experienced by weak people, but also by individuals with hardship in their lives that tend to receive pleasure from temptation. But I don't belive they should be identified as weak, as it is just a way for them to escape reality.
Jaime Correa B2A
