Push Factors: Many Irish immigrants, labeled as "Scotch-Irish", were pushed to America because of religious conflicts, a lack of political standing, and harsh economic conditions.

2.Pull Factors: Relative to the push factors, Scotch-Irish immigrants were pulled to America mainly because of the ensured land ownership and religious freedom.

3. Migrant Labor: Although Scotch-Irish immigrants were generally hard workers, it was difficult for them to find work in urban, industrialized areas, as they were coming from relatively rural areas.

4.International Migration: Coming from Northern Ireland, Scotch-Irish immigrants made the Transatlantic move in the early 1700's.

5. Internal Migration: Unfortunately, once the Scotch-Irish arrived in America, they found that many of the coastal area and land near ports was expensive so they moved to the "Back-Country" area along the Appalachians, and just inward overall.

6. (Every migration flow generates a return or counter migration)
While some Scotch Irish migrants dis return, this migration did NOT generate a counter migration other then the pushing of native Americans. While moving westward, land has to be fought for by punishing people away. 
2. (The majority of migrants move short distances.) The Scotch- Irish migration does not relate to this law because Ireland and North America are not considered close. An ocean needed to be traveled in order to settle. However, some migration within North America could be considered close in area.
3. (Migrants who move far distances tend to move to big cities) The Scotch- Irish migration does not relate to this law for they originally settled in the Appalachian mountains and continued to push westward for land. Most were framers and not in the city.
 4. (Urban residents are less migratory than inhabitants of rural areas.) The Scotch Irish migration relates to this because they settled in rural areas and tended to more around. The migrants pushed their way through PA and westward of the Appalachians which would not have been done if they were in an Urban area.
5. (Families anew less likely to make international moves then younger adults) Because the Scotch Irish migration was partly people being pushed from their country due to reasons such as the potato famine, a wide variety of ages and lifestyles moved.
