1350 CE. 8:00 am. It's a time of devastation. I watch corpses burn on the streets through a small window underneath the chapel. The smell of the bodies reeks, even in this basement. The smoke condenses into one big smog, looming over our village like a demon. My little brother recently died from the disease causing all of this. No funeral. There were almost not enough healthy people to cremate his body. Worst of all, he was only left with me to watch his ashes; our parents abandoned us when the disease came to the village. I've heard that it's killed thousands across the continent already. All our prayers of cure haven't been able to diminish it. What reason did god have for sending down such an evil as this? I'll certainly never know until I'm sent to him. All of this darkness brings me sorrow. I guess you could say this disease is like the smog blocking the sun from shining: One big, black death.
