Cognitive theory is the theory of you thinking about what you have been through and translating your past experiences to the present. For example being in the kitchen and touching a hot stove that burns you help you learn to not touch the stove again . This happens because you learned that the stove was hot and you didn’t want to get burned again. Using prior knowledge to execute a repetitive task helps with success.

2. Identify which theory you think would be most helpful in maintaining your motivation. Discuss how this theory can be used to support your commitment to your goals.

The cognitive theory is the most helpful in maintaining your motivation because no matter what everything done by a human starts with the mental process of success. In the music industry I’m able to express myself freely with no one to tell me what and what not to say . Mentally I have to know what I can say that would get across to the listener without too much confusion. This theory helps me to put my word together thoroughly and help me to be able to decide how to articulate how I feel and put the dialogue together fluently .
