TED ED DISCUSSION by Gian Gerzon

Do you believe there is a way we can reverse the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and go back to the stable 270 ppm that was hospitable for such a long time to humans and other organisms?
What do you suggest we do? Is it too late to reverse these climate changes? Are humans capable of such drastic change? What would you be willing to give up or change to make this possible?

1. Yes, I believe there is a way we can reverse the level of carbon dioxide and that is by not cutting up trees because photosynthesis removes carbon dioxide naturally.
2. The thing I suggest for us to do is to cut less trees in the forest. No it’s not too late to reverse these climate changes.
3. Humans could stop deforestation and stop burning a lot of fossil fuels and use alternatives that are safe for the enviornment.I don't think it's too late but it would need to happen soon and not later.
3.

Yes, we can reduce carbon dioxide though it would take a long time to get back to 270 ppm. We can do this by turning all electronically powered devices off when not in use, only use them when necessary, and to use more energy efficient devices. Companies, big corporations, and entire countries would need to use more environmentally friendly means of getting electricity and only use it when necessary. We would also need to stop producing so many goods. Producing useless items and producing more than necessary uses fossil fuels and releases greenhouse gasses that could be avoided. We would need to stop using so much fossil fuels in factories and in everyday life. Food waste and artificial foods emit more greenhouse gasses than you think, and we waste and buy a lot of food, especially processed foods. I don’t think it’s too late to reverse the damage we’ve done, but it needs to be a global effort, and a wholehearted one at that. To make these changes, I’d be willing to give up most of the electrical devices I use, start gardening to produce my own food, and change to more eco friendly means of using what electoral devices I use.

Christopher Baia - Can humans change thre CO^2 levels? And how would they

Yes, I think that scientists can be able to reverse the carbon dioxide that is in the air and still be able to go back to a stable 270 ppm or less. We can try and create a machine that can use the carbon dioxide in the air and use that into some kind of energy source that is not harmful to the Earth. I say less because this can also be very dangerous if they use it for too long than it could very well suck all of the carbon dioxide that’s in the air and that’s a no good. If we keep up the pace that we are going it’s going to be even harder to get the carbon dioxide levels low enough that it’s stable. it can be possible still by the machine but it will be extremely difficult and even more difficult if the carbon dioxide levels rise ever so higher. Yes I think humans are capable to do this drastic change but that does not mean that they will for the same reason I mean even something such as a mechanical pencil or a normal no.2 pencil can make a debate in the world so I don’t know. I would not be willing to give up anything but I would definitely change the way of how the cars use gasoline instead of electricity I would probably switch to a Tesla as soon as I get the money too or I’ll just have to walk or something.
