Cognitive and Behavioral Neurologists focus on the thought process of humans; both conscious and subconscious. People in the field focus on ones perception affecting their action and why people perceive the way they do.

As with any scientific field, the most prominent form of writing will be the reports made from the experiments conducted. The reports written are not for entertainment and thus, are not creative with most people finding them boring to read.

The reports all seem to follow a general formula. They begin with an introduction, the thesis always at the end. The introduction always introduces the reason for research and an overview to the issue at hand. After the introduction there is slightly more leeway for the formatting of the paper. Some pieces take the next few paragraphs to explain the purposes why research is needed and others jump straight into the results of the research. However, there is always a concluding paragraph, which can be considered the discussion portion of the research. The reports form this community are similar to the primary research paper we composed.

In each report the sentences are on the longer end and contain plenty of commas for separation while still mainting the continuous thought.

In a majority of the papers, the author does not address themself at all and stick strictly to the research conducted and the results. In the few papers where the author does address themself, they address themself using "I".

A common theme is also the lack of contractions. As mentioned above, the authors tend to not address themselves.

Another common theme is using language to prompt a chronological order to what their research is building off of.

Most of the papers are written in past and present tense, never future.

There is also abundant jargon being used form this community in the reports. Yet the reports are not difficult to read or understand from an outsiders standpoint.
