<title>Mona Hatum “Culture is beyond communication” – Mona Hatum addresses her confused cultural identity. In her work, “Measures of Distance” she reads a letter from her mother. She overlays Arabic script and in the background we hear mummers of Arabic speech. Hatum’s mother is very much involved and part of her work, which shows the bravery of Islamic women that Shirin Neshat talks of. Her mother addresses Hatum’s “identity Crisis”.</title>
