The book i have chosen to read is the book the hatchet. I had read parts of it when i was younger but never finished it. It always seemed interesting to me so i decided to finish it this year. The reason i chose this book was because it was about the character ( Brian), going through a divorce and i related to that. So since he was going through a divorce, he went fly to where his dad stayed in Canada but it didn't work out like that because his pilot had a heart attack and Brian had to take over the plane and landed it in a lake which left him sanded in a Canadian forest. I've always liked survival movies and books so that is another reason for choosing the book Hatchet. What i like about the book so far is how the book really keeps us involved in how Brian's feeling are. It shows us how he thinks to himself on the whole divorce situation and how hes so upset at his mother for tearing their family apart. I also like how there is always action going on in the story. It always makes you want to know what else it going to happen and how Brian is going to get himself out of the woods. I feel like this is one of the more interesting books iv'e read because most of the books iv'e read recently are books assigned by teachers and i'm not really interested in class books like that.

In my book the main character has crashed landed on a little lake in the Canadian woods. His pilot had a heart attack mid flight and Brian was forced to crash land the plane with nothing but the clothes on his back and a hatchet to help him survive. Mid way in the book Brian has helped himself to shelter by building a little hut out of some hard wood sticks and covered the top with a lot of leaves and grass. Brian in much pain physically and mentally, physically because of how bad he landed the plane in the water, and mentally because of the secret he knew of his mother. The secret that broke Brian's family apart. Throughout the whole time Brian is stranded that is all he could think about, sometimes saying that would hurt him more at times then his actual body. But Brian couldn't stay there doing nothing the whole times, he didn't want to die like that, so he finally got up and looked for food. Throughout everything Brian went through in the past two days he encountered something he thought would for sure kill him on the spot. A bear. As Brian stumbled upon a berry bushed he spotted a big brown bear but he pray, left him alone, and went back to safety. During this part of the book it leaves me to wonder how long it will take for people to find Brain, or if anyone will find him at that.

In my book the hatchet, the book i have chosen to read, the main character (Brian), goes through many obstacles. Currently where i am in my book Brian see finally beginning to be one with his surroundings and start to adapt to where hes crash landed. He is finally finding more food and starting to know his way around the Canadian forest. But Brian believes that its only temporary because he knows a rescue team will find his soon so he can get to his dads and explain to him the "Secret". But brain knows he has to focus on getting out of there and he knows the main source of some type signal. Fire. Brian didn't know how he was going to make that happen, but he knew he had to try he just didn't know where to start. Brian begins to lose hope and becomes stumped for a while. He has to think about everything hes ever watched but he cant. He becomes worried that no one will find him. I'm in a part of the book where Brian feels like he is wanting to give up and that is never going to get him out of his current situation. Im getting so anxious because i want brain to get out of there he needs to look at all of his options. I want him to realize he has more than he think he has and start thinking outside of the box. Wake up Brian and get youself out of there

In my book that i'm currently reading. The main character Brian is still stranded in the Canadian forest. He still hasn't got out of there and its been about a week. Brian is starting to lose hope and feel like giving up. Brian knows there is only two things to do though, he can either give up and basically just die in the Canadian forests, or can pick him self up and get him self together. Brian needs to keep his hopes up and realize hes all hes got. He has got himself some fire, he knows where to find food, he has a whole lake full of water. He has it all if he really thinks about it. Brian then begins to think about people coming to his rescue and how he can be at home with his family finally getting to see them. Finally being able to share a nice warm meal with them and explain how terrible it was for him trying to fend for him self out there. Then THERE IT WAS! He heard it in the distance as he was gathering food. He heard a plane. He couldn't tell where it was or where it was heading to but he heard it and ran as fast as he could to start up a fire. Running so fast he almost tripped on everything he walked on. But he was too late, he heard the plane slowly begin to fade away... He then broke down. Starting to feel like everything was a game and him trying to survive was hopeless. He threw away all the hope and dreams he had in his head about going back home where he belongs. Please he thought. Please come back.

In the book i am currently reading, the main character Brian is still stranded in the Canadian forest. He was so close to getting out of there, all he needed was to have a fire going on outside while he went to look for food. Mistakes. He kept that word through his head because he made tons and tons of mistakes. Although some situation were tough he knew he needed to think strait and not let his situation get to him. As he nearly missed the plane Brian decided to keep a fire going outside at all times because it was a win win thing to do anyway. He could keep out bad intruders and he can grab attention of those in the sky that might be looking for him. Although that's what he wish had happened, but that night on top of how broke he already was, a skunk snuck his way into his shelter. Brian saw it but froze knowing it would spray him. He watched as he took all his eggs that he buried and was infuriated. He couldn't let him just take from him so he decided to throw sand at him but boy what a mistake that was for Brian. The skunk had sprayed him and left a terrible sent on him for weeks. Brian needed to get smarter and decided to make a shelf tall, tall enough that no animal would ever take from him again. Brian's trying to adapt to his surroundings but its looking pretty tough on him.

In the book i am currently reading, the main character Brian is still stranded in the Canadian forest. After the close call with the plane going over his head he had completely given up. He had make a careless mistake with not having a fire going when he went looking for food. He had been so upset with himself because he had tried so hard to get out of this terrible situation and he made such a dumb error. Although Brian felt as if this were it and there was nothing else he could do, he got up and wiped away his tear because he knew he was better than this. He was relentless when it came to finding anyway to get himself out of there. He had wanted to see his parents so bad. He missed them greatly but felt like they didn't feel the same. He had been out there for almost two months now. He always thought about that and it killed him thinking he would die off out there. Brian knew there had to be something to get himself out of there. After a week passes he notices there is some hard looking box floating in the water... He quickly goes to it to see what it could be because he has to find anything to help him get out of there. Brian then opens it and tears of joy fall down his face because it was a survival kit with a transmitter! He knew it was all over. He knew he was finally going home. After he messed with all the buttons possible,a hour later, he hears the best sound of his life. A rescue chopper! they had finally came for him. The pilot tells him they had stopped looking after just 1 week. Brian didn't even care. He was going home and finally getting away from his worst nightmare. He did it, Brian did one of the craziest things he ever did in life.

i am starting a new book called "When i was the greatest". It is a novel about a kid living in some apartments in NY along with some other crazy people. The main character (Ali) is a good kid living in some bad surroundings. I haven't got that deep in the book to know about much that is going on yet, but i know that some not so good things might start to happen with these two new kids moving on the block. They didn't move just anywhere on the block either. They moved in the house where some of the nicest people used to live but moved away, after they moved though, the house became nothing but junkies live there. So with those two new kids moving into that house, Ali only thought that could mean one thing, that they were either junkies or just crazy. Ali never thought much of them moving in because he didn't feel like he would want to talk to them. Besides his mom always wanted Ali and his sister to stay out of any trouble. It wasn't even Ali's choice to talk with the new kids, one of them just showed up on his stoop and Ali couldn't just go passed him like he wasn't there. They had introduced themselves but Ali had thought he was weird just there sitting acting like he wasn't sweating buckets. Ever since they had talked on that stoop, the kid came back everyday. Ali didn't know if it was because he wanted to be friends with him, or if it was because he was embarrassed of where he lived. I like this book so far and look forward to what more happens next.

In the book i am currently reading, the main character Ali is just living his normal life going through the days with his best friends Noodles and Needles. They usually hang out all the time, even when they are not together if that really make sense. Ali explains that they have a restroom that connects a wall so on the days when either of them are in trouble, or just don't feel like going outside, they usually talk through the wall. See, ever since Noodles took a seat on Ali's stoop, they been best friends ever since. They hang out everyday and have a lot of fun doing dumb things. Recently tho, Needles had one of his worst break downs. Needles has this condition where he blurts out random things (mostly bad) and he can't control it so everyone is used to it and doesn't mind. This time though he was going off on people and acting crazier then normal so Ali's mom had to come in and help him. She brought out some yarn to keep him calm and showed him how to knit. It seemed like a crazy idea to Ali but it actually worked! Ever since Ali's mom showed him how to knit, hes been so into it and has been so calmed. They finally figured out how to calm him. They are going to need a lot of yarn to calm needles tho, he flips out a lot, so Ali and Noodles are going in a sketchy part of town that their not used to. Things might go down and i'm really into the book

In the book i am currently reading, the main character Ali has seen a lot of stuff everywhere in New York. Mostly from his crazy neighborhood that he lives in too. Now that some new kids that are as wild as ever, have moved in too, things are about to get a lot more crazy. After Ali and Noodles go downtown to get some different colored yarn for Needles, they hurry out of there. You see the thing is Noodles doesn't really have the money to be paying for dumb things, as he says. They escaped anyway but Ali says things always get to Dorris, so she ended up finding out. Dorris doesn't really get all to mad with Ali because he never gives her many reasons too. He's always been an out of trouble kid but Dorris still worries because their father always got himself into trouble even if it was for the sake of their family, Dorris just couldn't do it anymore, she couldn't keep bailing him out so it was time for her to let go. That is very sad to me because growing up without a father could be hard, especially on the kids when they are very young. Ali says in the book that whenever her mom needed a break, she would send them to this man who was a close family friend. Ali explained how he, (Mallory) was always tough on him but a loving type of tough, and said he taught him how to throw his first jab. Now i know how Ali got into boxing and hows he so good at it. Ali has been training with him all his life. I just want to see if he will ever use that training in a real life scenario

In the book i am currently reading, the main character Ali has started to explain more about his early childhood and its starting to interest me about how they manged to get though it. He starts talking about how his dad wasn't really in his sister and his life when they were growing up and how his mom had to work three jobs. Ali is a very good kid and him and his sister never really get into any trouble. I'm just surprised about this because he can easily sneak around and do basically anything he wants and get away with it. Ali's best friends were probably the only bad influence he ever had around him though. Especially noodles because he was just always so crazy always getting so mad about everything. This would kind of get me mad because sometimes he would treat his brother and Ali really wrong. They would get in fight here and there but it was never anything they couldn't get over because at the end of the day they were best friends. Going back to Ali never doing anything wrong though, he might do something that could get him into a lot of trouble. Him noodles and needles have always wanted to go to one of MOMO's parties, and that's what they were going to do. This is kind of crazy though because Ali usually says every time he does something behind Doris's back ( his mom) she always finds out because its usually word on the street. So i'm just curious to see if Ali and his homies are going to be able to get in and out of that party without getting in biggg trouble

In the book that i am currently reading, the main character Ali and his two best friends are getting ready for MoMo's big party. I don't things are going to go as planned because usually everything that Ali does, gets back to his mom. Like i said before, Ali isn't a trouble maker, or one to do things that everyone on his block do. The only thing is the party isn't on a weekend, its on a Wednesday so Ali thinks he can pull it off with no trouble because his mom will be working her three jobs. One of their big problems tho is that they didn't have any "fly" clothes to wear to the party. They knew they were dealing with a top dog so it was a top notch party, they cant just show up with no haircuts or any nice clothes. They knew they were screwed if they couldn't find enough money to get them some nice stuff for that party. That's whenever Ali's dad came to the rescue and surprised Ali. Which was weird to me because Ali explained that he was never really around but he would text them here and there to see how him and his sister were doing. Other then that pretty much nothing. But after talking to him he cut to the chase and let him know what they needed because he knew the perfect person to ask was his dad after everything hes finessed. Things are taking forever to see what happens but i wonder if they will pull it off

That was what really pulled me into reading the rest of the story in the little 5 minutes that we had to read in class. I wanted to know and find out what a normal seventeen year old could have done to get put into the wort kind of discipline there is. I just got the book so i don't really know much of whats going on but i do know it started off really interesting because the setting went strait into the court room. They were already discussing her sentence and how everything was going to go down. While they were sentencing her guilty, she was being filmed for a T.V show. So not only did the people in the court room heard and witness her being guilty, but so did fifty million other people. This books seems so interesting and i cant wait to understand everything that's going on and find out what Dee did to get herself in the situation shes currently in. I've always been into law and stuff like that so i know this book will keep me reading. I have so many unanswered questions and so many things i still need to find out so i know that i actually need to read to enjoy this book
