A lawsuit that challenged the assessment of students based on their language proficiency. This court case would be resolved by the US Supreme Court that ruled in favor of Diana, that standardized testing could be tougher and more discriminatory against people who are not proficient in a certain language.

One of the most famous educational court cases in history, Brown vs the BOE determined that every child, no matter where they come from, race, gender, ethnicity and so on will deter them from getting a proper education. Everyone must be equal inside of the classroom and not be mistreated based on who they are and where they came from.

Implementing this in the early 2000's meant that all students will have the same opportunity inside of the classroom. This would essentially close the learning gap that some students would face due to certain obstacles they would come to. Education changed for the better after this, paving the way for all students to succeed.

In this year, Common Core Standards would be repealed or replaced in 24 different states. This came after scrutiny over the new implementations and how they would affect the children. Many, many people (including myself) were very happy to see states change these standards.
