Definition:
The red flag confirmation bias is a human trait that everyone has. It is the tendency to seek out information that heavily favours and confirms your pre-existing view point while not seeking or even ignoring any valid points that may oppose you.

Connection:
An example of confirmation bias is in politics. You have the right side and the left side. The oxford definition for a right sided politician is one who opposes socialism and social democracy while a left sided politician would favour them. A person who favours one side or the other would often agree with their side while ignoring valid view points of the opposing side because of their pre existing beliefs.

Definition:
Appeal to authority is described as the use of an authority figure of high status or power to insist that a claim is true simply because the authority figure or expert on the argument said it is to be true

Connection:
An example of appeal to authority is in professional sports. The picture below is a photo of the professional soccer player Christiano Ronaldo who is supposedly the best soccer player in the world at this moment. Because he is endorsed by the sports company Nike, he will tell everyone that Nike is the best sports wear and where you should buy all your sports equipment. Christiano is high authority figure so someone people might say because he is the best you have to buy all the products he uses to make you better.

Definition:
The red flag ancient wisdom is the use of traditions or practices that were used back in ancient times because of the belief of that those practices are superior to the practices used in the modern day because "it's the way it's always been".

Connection:
An example of ancient wisdom is the Mayan calendar. The Mayan Calendar ended on December 12th, 2012 and most people predicted that the apocalypse was coming and that the world was going to come to an end, but that was not the case. There was no reason or evidence to believe the Mayans but those who did fall for this believed that the Mayans knew something we did not.
