Amanda Boxtel was any other woman back in her day - i.e. an adventurous one. She loved skiing, but little did she know it would cause a tragedy turned victory for her. You see, 26 years ago, Amanda went skating, when she somersaulted and fell on her back, causing her to be paralyzed from the waist down. She couldn't walk anymore. She was asked to try a prototype for an exoskeleton suit, which helped her to be able to walk again. She decided to start her foundation, Bridging Bionics, to help other people in her position gain their mobility back.

People who've never walked before can now get the experience.

3.) It will build people's self confidence.

1.) Amanda Boxtel was in a horrible skiing accident 26 years ago, hindering her ability to walk. In 2010, she used a bionic exoskeleton suit, which helped her walk, and she took her first step in 18 years. Boxtel was then motivated to start Bridging Bonics, a non-profit organization based near Aspen, Colorado. The organization, beginning in 2014, gives high-tech physical therapy to people with mobility impairments.

2.) Amanda Boxtel briefly discusses her life 26 years ago, when her skiing accident occured, in which she fell on her back hard enough to cause he to be paralyzed from the waist down. She states that 8 years later, she was invited to try a prototype of an exoskeleton, which helped her be able to walk again, after not walking for 18 years. Although she had mobility again, she felt guilty that most people with such impairments as her own did not have easy accessability to bionic technology. She decided to start her company, Bridging Bionics, to help aid those people by giving them a chance to have phyical therapy using exoskeletons such as her own.
