Lencho wrote a letter to God because he had great faith in God. Due to a hailstorm all his crops got ruined and in order to support his family it was necessary for him to sow the seeds again and earn. So he wrote a letter to God asking for lending hundred pesos to him.

The letter which he wrote was received by a postman who took the letter to the postmaster. After reading it he laughed but later took a serious turn. He was surprised to see such a faith in God. He decided to help the writer of letter and asked his employees to give something as an act of charity. He himself gave part of his salary. Keeping all the collected money in an envelope, as a signature he wrote God.

When Lencho came to receive God's answer he found that there were only seventy pesos whereas the amount he asked was hundred. He knew that God will never make a mistake neither will he deny his request. He believed that all the employees of the post office were a bunch of crooks and had stolen the remaining money. Therefore he again wrote a letter in the post office itself stating again to God for sending him rest of the money through some other means.

The central idea of the poem "dust of snow" is that nature is the biggest healer. The poet being very much depressed at the initial stage of the poem , thought that everything will remain like this only and nothing will change. This depicts the negativity that surrounds us when we feel depressed.

Later in the poem , when he was sitting under a hemlock tree, a crow shook some dust of snow on his coat. This incident wasn't much unique but for poet, it brought a sudden happy change in his life and his depression suddenly vanished. He forgot his problems and got perfectly tuned with the nature and felt happy.

By expressing this situation, the poet conveys the message that if we think positive , then, we will never feel depressed. The poet gave a perfect example as when he thought with negative attitude, even the happier things around him were appearing sorrowful to him but the crow and the hemlock tree which are considered as the symbol of "death" and "sorrow" brought a happy change in the his life.

This is also related to us as we even face such situations in our life. So, we must think positively in such situations and bring out happiness from our life and, by doing this we will feel better and our sorrow will vanish.

He had been unable to complete his work and so he believed that that particular day would be going to waste. His mood had become sullen and despairing. Suddenly, as he was walking by a wooded area full of hemlock trees, a cow alighted on a branch of one of those trees, causing the mass of snowflakes atop it to rain down on the poet. The snowflakes were so light and miniscule that the poet thought they resembled dust particles more than anything else. However, this raining down of snowflakes upon him did not upset the poet further. In fact, quite the opposite happened. His mood immediately improved, and he was cheered up. He felt joy and thankfulness to be alive on such a beautiful day.

In thi he want is to tell difference between the two most destructive natural things fire and ice .

For fire he means with burning the desire of material things and by ice he means coldness that emerges in human body due to materialistic things and finally he also says that the earh will end due to fire as the core will get heated and in the same way if ice gets freeze on flora and fauna then also earth will end .

So at the end he concluded that both the things are very dangerous and have there adverse effect so
And also tell us that nothing in this world is external everything will perish even though fire and ice .

Mandela realized in his youth that it was not just his freedom that was being curtailed, but the freedom of all blacks. The hunger for his own freedom gradually turned into hunger for the freedom of his people. This desire of a non-racial society transformed him into a virtuous and self-sacrificing man. Thus, he joined the African National Congress and this changed the fearful man to a fearless rebel. He sacrificed the comforts of a settled family life to fight for a greater cause. The sacrifice made by him
was so atypical that it is still being remembered to the date .

Mandela’s hunger for freedom changed his life significantly. As a child, Mandela didn't hunger for liberty because he thought he was born free. He believed he was free in any way, as long as he obeyed his father and abided by his tribe's customs. However, on reaching boyhood he gradually understood that his freedom was an illusion and all those who looked like him were not free. This realisation pushed him to a life of monk and changed his identity from a law abiding citizen to a ‘criminal’ who challenged the oppressive laws against the blacks.
He realised that as long as his fellow brothers were bounded by the chains of slavery he could never be free. This realisation became the primary reason which led him to join African National Congress since the hunger for his own freedom became the greater hunger for the freedom of his people. He also understood that even the oppressor was a slave bounded by chains of hatred and narrow mindedness. Thus Mandela’s hunger for freedom not only transformed him into a self sacrificing person but also changed his way of thinking.

Mandela's Hunger for Freedom;

As a very normal part of growing up, Mandela was made available to all the trivial liberties, that one experiences during the early delicate years of life, where at the same time, he was supposed to conform the customs and practices of the tribe he belonged to, these freedoms were actually termed as 'transitory', later by Mandela himself.
It was only later when, being a wise man, Mandela discovered, that his basic civil rights, were long back, already snatched away from him, that not only he, but all those who looked alike, were deprived of the amenities, because of the only absolute reason - their physical appearance.
This unjustified cause of ill treatment to Mandela and his people, enraged him to rise, not only to deplore but also to renegade/rebel against the act for a greater cause, he chose to become a monk from being a fun loving happy man, he became a law-breaker from being a lawyer. He chose to struggle not only for the reason to liberate people, but largely for justice, for according to him, the oppressor is as stifled as the oppressed, and that both need to be freed from the bars of 'hatred' and 'subjugation' ; respectively.

The story is about a girl names Sulekha who was also refered to as Bholi. Bholi and Sulekha were 2 contradicting terms which contradicted between the stammering girl and the transformed self confident girl.
Initially the timid girl was called Bholi. Bholi usually means innocent or simpleton. At that time, Bholi was someone who was considered a dumb cow and stammering fool. One who could be manipulated and was not educated. She wasn't treated respectully by anyone and was seen with pity due to the pox marks on her face. Hence she is referred to as Bholi initially which is before she met the teacher who successfully removed the veil hiding her true inner person.

After mentioning her real name in beginning of the story and then at last because author wants to show that sulekha attained her true identity by throwing aside the veil that hid her personality and it is after education that she has become strong and stood up for herself. Sulekha comes from a hindi term meaning the art of beautiful writing. It symbolises education and beauty and hence now she was refered as sulekha

Coorg, the land of rolling hills, is inhabited by a clan of martial men, beautiful women and dense flora and fauna. The people of Coorg are of Arabic and Greek descent. People of Coorg are very lively and their influence extends to tourists. The people of Coorg, due to their valiant and fiercely independent character, have been allowed to carry firearms without a license. They form the most decorated regiment of the Indian army, owing to this same feature of their men. They are traditionally very hospitable, and always extend a warm welcome to visitors. They are always ready to narrate the stories of their valorous men.

They are possibly the descendants of the Arabs or the Greeks. We know this fact from a story that goes as follows. Alexander’s army purportedly moved south along the coast to Coorg to settle here, when return seemed impractical. They married amongst the local population. Their culture, too, can be seen in the population here, which is distinct from the Hindu mainstream. Similarly, the resemblance to the Arabs comes from the black coat with an embroidered waist belt known as kuppia among the Kodavus, which the Arabs and Kurds call Kuffia.

Thus, culture of Coorg is a very distinct and unique one in India.

When the driver horned at the cow,the cow would scramble here and there. Valli found it to be absolutely amusing and funny. She laughed so much that tears came from her eyes.

The second time when Valli was headed for another bus trip to town, she suddenly saw a young cow lying dead by the roadside where it had been struck by some vehicle. It was the same cow which ran infront of their bus earlier . This dampened her enthusiasm. The loveable beautiful creature had now lost its charm and life and looked so horrible and frightening as it lay there dead with blood all over.

Valli, an eight year old inquisitive girl. She loved to spend her time standing on the doorway and watching the busy street doing their chores, the most intriguing of them was to watch the village bus travelling through the street each hour. As she watched the bus, a tiny wish, which soon became a desired fervor came in her mind, she wanted to have a ride on the bus and experience something different and exciting. One day, and that very day came after her months of planning and sacrifices of her favourite toys, peppermints and much more stuff that she desired to have. She skedaddled from her home and into the bus. She was fascinated by the exciting view that the town had. On her way she experienced many new things for the first time in her life. When the bus reached its destination, the market, the bus conductor, a jolly fellow offered Valli to get her some drinks and snacks from the shops but Valli didn't accept a free drink from the bus conductor because she didn't have enough money. In a very courteous manner Valli refused the driver and said she only wanted her ticket. This tells us that she was a wise girl as she understood that she shouldn’t take anything offered by the stranger and had self-control over her feelings. She had a lot of self will and pride and she did not want to take anything for free, particularly from a stranger.
BY-: ANWESHA, AASTHA, KAVYA, SHAYSHA, ANNANY

Q4 . How did Ebrights mother encourage him to become a scientist?
Richard Ebright's mother was the protagonist of his story. After Richard's father died, she was the only one who cared for him. She encouraged his interest in learning by taking him on trips along with telescopes, cameras and other scientific equipment to inculcate a habit of curiosity in his mind. His companion, his mother, wanted him to spend his time, learning things and thus, bought a book named "The Travels of Monarch" which told how monarch butterflies migrated to Central America. This very book opened the world of science for him and made him a great scientist

by : Tanishq , Kavya , Bhavya , Mehak , Devina , Anwesha
