In 1834 slavery officially ended in the Caribbean which was followed by 4 years of apprenticeship which ended in 1838. At this time racial division amongst people of African decent was widely present as people of African decent found in hard to find jobs and they would find themselves victims of racial discrimination. At present the lines which has divided people racially has been erased down to a very thin line which although is not completely gone it has come a long way since the days of slavery. Many countries of the Caribbean one by one slowly gained independence but in recent times they have formed organizations such as CARICOM which strive for regional integration in the Caribbean to create a Caribbean Community. "Ain't that ironic globalization but not on a global scale."

Why are we trying to separate ourselves in the from the world isn't the the point of globalization to create a global village. Maybe Caribbean integration should be considered as stepping stones in the path to creating this global village. The Caribbean should not stop at just a Caribbean community and should strive to create a Global Community. If Caribbean integration is seen as useful and beneficial to the Caribbean wouldn't the application on a global scale be even greater. And there are many benefits to Caribbean integration such as, Economic growth as the collective wealth of the Caribbean would be shared amongst all nations, this would be seen as the form of a single currency. Another benefit would be that of education as people would be able to travel throughout the Caribbean to receive education, aside from education with barriers removed trade would be easier travelling for work would become more common as people would be able to have easier access to jobs from around the Caribbean. Wouldn't it be better if all dose things mentioned above could be done on a global scale not just being able to travel the Caribbean for education and work but to be able to freely travel the world, not just being limited to having free trade in the Caribbean. Why waste your one wish on peace in the Caribbean if you could wish for world peace

What is this Caribbean that we speak of you may ask?
technically there are three definitions that define the Caribbean.
1. Firstly there's the geological definition of the Caribbean which states that the Caribbean sits on the Caribbean plate. A plate being a large piece of the earths crust which has both land and ocean resting on it.
2. The second definition given to the Caribbean is one of geography. This states that all islands which shores are apart of the Caribbean Sea. This would consist of most countries that make up the Greater and Lesser Antillies
and some of the central and South American Countries.
3. the last definition which defines the Caribbean is one of the historical background of the island. This definition states that all territories which shared similar experiences European colonialism and which suffered the consequences of the colonization which was slavery and indenture ship.

Some Countries may fall into one definition and may not fall into the other

Before the Caribbean was Colonized it was inhabited by indigenous people. when the Spanish came though genocide they killed out a majority of the indigenous people. Eventually different colonies and to work the plantations which they made they brought down slaves from west Africa. after slavery was abolished they brought indentured labors who were of Chinese, East Indian and Portuguese decent.
The Slavery in that was present in the Caribbean chattel slavery was way different from west African slavery as it was way more dehumanizing and slaves in west Africa still had rights.

Several dances were create in the Caribbean such as
another part of Caribbean culture is the many many different foods which are prepared in the Caribbean such as doubles, ackee and salt fish , jamaican patties, cou-cou and flying fish , fungee and pepperpot and many more . Why should we not share this with the world rather than keeping it for yourselves and of course every one would love the food who wouldn't.

The sharing of culture, opening up of jobs around the world for people, greater educational opportunities and people all over the globe as one so many things which can be accomplished by developing a global village. With the Technological world which we live in today having a world wide system which everyone is registered in at birth could be accomplished. this would eliminate the need for a national id as one would have now have a global id. No longer would on rely on the wealth of there nation to determine there dollar value as a global currency could be used which would put more focus on self wealth.

While i see Caribbean Integration as a stepping stone that would eventually lead into the world becoming a global village if the global village is not the final goal which we are aiming for then it is worthless as it would only create more barriers in the world. Maybe it's because I see the bigger picture and don't see my self needing a Caribbean identity but wanting an personal identity in the world. After the creation of this Global Village i would now say welcome to earth as we would now be connected as a people of earth.

Everyone would be benefiting from globalization and you'll be there with well preserved culture.
