         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Gen Ed. Teacher Roles</strong></div><div>-Progress monitoring--- “teachers must continue to monitor progress with assessment in order to meet IEP requirements and evaluate the impact of the instruction on student performance.”</div><div>- “Screening tools are designed to help teachers determine which students need interventions to help them succeed in academic areas.”&nbsp; Teachers then use this information to guide their instruction.</div><div>-Teachers are responsible for giving assessments over the academic skills that are at grade-level and to monitor the IEP goals.&nbsp; This assesses the students learning and judges if learning is taking place.&nbsp; This also enables the teachers to scaffold the materials being taught.&nbsp; They can also create interventions or one-on-one help if needed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Sped Teacher Roles</strong></div><div>- A comprehensive assessment is given by the Special Education teacher to determine eligibility of a child.&nbsp;</div><div>"accurately assess the areas affected by the suspected disability, administered by a trained professional, and administered in a way that is consistent with standard procedures identified by the test publishers; they cannot be biased in any way “</div><div>-The special education teacher creates the goals and objectives for a student after analyzing the interventions that took place in the classroom to create an IEP.</div><div>-&nbsp;They hold annual and 3 year re-evaluations for students with and IEP, that includes the teachers and parents.</div><div>-There is a 60 day time frame that a special education teacher must follow when evaluating a student that has been referred.</div><div>-They provide accommodations to “Students with disabilities participate in state and district testing with accommodations permitted as necessary.”</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
