         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cole Saldana<br>Beam-<br>Most basic type of bridge. Supported by several types of beams. V shaped or straight. <br>Cantilever-<br>Looks like an arch bridge but support the load through diagonal bracing. They use truss below and over.<br>Arch-<br>Arch Bridges have an arch which act as the main component. Made with one or more hinges.<br>Tied Arch-<br>Similar to arch but transfer the weight of the load to the cord that is connected to the bottom cords in bridge formation.<br>Truss-<br>Popular, good looking bridge. Uses diagonal posts above the bridge. Most popular are the King and Queen posts.<br>Suspension-<br>Uses ropes or cables from top suspender to hold weight of bridge and load.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Emiliano Villicaña<br><strong>Compression</strong>-<br>A pushing force. Shorter objects (for example a popsicle stick) will hold more compression force than longer ones. When something starts to compress it bends. (That's why the popsicle sticks break in half, they compress to the point they can't bend any more and snap)<br><strong>Tension-<br></strong>A pulling force. In this case the length of an object does not affect it's strength. (It would be hard pulling apart a stick)<br><br><strong>Resistance</strong>-<br>The force that pushes back up on the bridge. When bridges are built they are anchored down to the ground to be able to counter the force pushing down. <br><br><strong>Load</strong>-&nbsp;<br>The weight being placed on the bridge. It causes stress on the bridge (tension). If the load is to heavy for the bridge, it will "buckle" and collapse.</div>]]></description>
