The conflict or problem in my book is “The time machine was gone!”(35). The time traveller, who is telling the story of the time machine disappearing “its too long a story to tell over greasy plates”(16).  The time traveller felt that “the little people had put the mechanism in some shelter for me”(36). Although, that wasn’t the case, how I thought the time traveller was going to solve the problem was totally different from how he actually solved it. I predicted him finding the time machine with the little people he met and finding them tearing it apart. He’d have to try to communicate with them to stop messing with it , and they would try to fight him over it. Afterwards, he would he would apologize and comfort them. He would then have repair the time machine to make his way back home. What actually happened is that the time machine was put in the Sphinx by the Morlocks who stole the time machine. Why they stole it, no idea but they hid it there away from the time traveller. When he goes to retrieve the time machine, he have to deal with the morlocks. He eventually fights them off and gets on to the time machine and he started to time travel again.
