         <title>It&#39;s a little general and could be difficult to &#39;enforce&#39;. Maybe the language needs to change and we need to present it as something for which we expect students&#39; support, a little like we ask students to sign an &#39;honour pledge&#39; as opposed to an &#39;Academic honesty policy&#39; to show that they are pledging to support what is in the policy.</title>

         <title>Not sure that all tutors will be comfortable being the arbiters of this - and this is what has always scuppered previous Dress Codes! The downfall usually lies more in the inconsistent implementation of it rather than the code itself being flawed. How can this be addressed? Last time we tried by having one neutral arbiter - Ms. Sharman. But that has its own problems...</title>

         <title>Please make the final code something that is applied to Dress casual days too...important that we don&#39;t just suddenly allow a free for all for younger students and all these points and the rationale just get ignored...that would show the rationale (and the code) is not really embedded</title>

         <title>Agree that the &#39;individuality&#39; rationale needs some adjusting and linking with professionalism. It should be noted that, unlike other schools that may have a formal uniform for the IB years, SIS already permits very considerable individuality in its dress code. Something like &#39;appropriately professional whilst in line with your individual choices&#39; might lead to a less conflicting position.</title>

      <item>
         <title>Professionalism does NOT need to mean very formal business attire. But it does mean ensure that students recognise that out in the world, like it or not, they WILL be judged by many on their dress code and they need to learn to dress in a way that is appropriate to their professional environment. Therefore, in a school context, professional means respectful, non-offensive and non-provocative. We need to balance any desire to permit individual expression against care that the dress code does not have the potential to offend or provoke others.</title>

         <title>Overall, the gender neutral visuals are great. As before, please be very careful about how you articulate the &#39;individual&#39; elements, which could be used as an excuse by students for almost &#39;anything goes&#39;</title>

      <item>
         <title>There are potential problems with students repeatedly changing outfits during the day if different subjects have different codes! Beyond that, it needs to be recognised that students have in the past challenged teachers who try to &#39;enforce&#39; a code. Teachers will need training and a clear script for how to do this, and students must very clearly understand that this is part of teachers&#39; professional duty and not something personal from the teacher. Tutors who &#39;enforce&#39; are left vulnerable to criticism if others do not do the same, so consistency will be important.</title>

         <title>If we can couple teacher training on the most sensitive and consistent way to do this with student understanding of the above, then this could work well. It would be great if there could be a student committee who would be part of this process. Agree that the language used is extremely important and that the conversation should lead to agreement not warning.</title>
