People do not always get what they deserve I mean I dont deserve everthing I go through and neither does Maître Hauchcorne because he died with his last words being "A little bit of string...."
2. Actually, I didn't like this short story for lots of reasons but a short story should include good plot and a theme and conflict and setting etc.

1. People do not always get what they deserve. In the story M. Hauchcorne goes to pick up a piece of string and gets accused of stealing a pocket-book and money. He did not deserve this because he did nothing wrong. In the text it states, “He met only unbelievers.” No one would be believe he was innocent and he did not deserve that.
2. A good short story needs a interesting plot twist, a good title, well developed characters, a clear theme, a good setting, and more. The piece of string had most of these things.

"A little bit of string-a little bit of string-see, here it is, M'sieu'le Maire.#2, They need an eye catching sentence, " It was market-day....", it must have a conflict, in this case it is a string mistaken for a pocket book, and it needs a conclusion, in the case he died a sad death.

1) People do not always why what they deserve. Hauchecorne shouldn’t have been laughed at for being an economical Norman. “Repeating” he said this multiple times. Making his case. THERE WAS PROOF THAT SOMEONE ELSE TOKE THE POCKET-BOOK!!!!! Yet some how they all still thought it was him. That he was connected. It drove himself so crazy that it started to make him PHYSICALLY unstable and ill. All because of this lie, this RUMOR that he stole the pocketbook; He picked up a piece of String.
2) What makes “Piece of String” a good short story is that it has some good cliff hangers and a very surprisingly good/bad ending. HE DIED!!! But it was like a good like shooking ending
