(1)There is a globally rising trend on the emphasis of acceptance (a big portion often linked to sexuality and race) and the idea of embracing oneself and their differences, especially prevalent on the Internet and social media. As a vast majority of people on the Internet spending the most number of hours tend to be aged between 18-35 in today's society, people between these ages are the ones with the most exposure and confrontations with such topics. Hence, this is one of the major factors which further promotes them to be mainly more accepting and at times even encouraging of embracing the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community. (2)The evidence can be seen from a poll by the National University of Singapore's Institute of Policy Studies found that nearly 15% of 60- to 64-year-olds saw nothing wrong with gay marriage in 2018, up from 11.4% among 55- to 59-year-olds in 2013. Meanwhile a majority of 25- to 29-year-olds asked in 2018 did not oppose adoption by gay couples. Link:

(1)Racism has always been prevalent globally whether it be 50 years ago or now, often due to the fixation on differences such as race, religion or even genetic origins. However, recent rising levels of xenophobia or anti-sentiments of foreigners indicating growing intolerance, seems to mainly stem from the fear of 'others' taking over 'us'. Be it in job opportunities, education qualifications or living spaces within a country. Therefore, government policies for allowing an increasing number of foreigners into the country may very well be the main driver of rising xenophobia and anti-foreigner sentiments. (2)The evidence is evident through how in Singapore, anti-foreigner sentiments dominate Internet chatter, so much so that “foreign trash Singapore” has become a Google auto-fill option.

(i)In the workplace, rising xenophobia stems from the fear of immigrants taking up better paying jobs, the feeling of being unequally treated, indirect favouritism, or giving privileges based on one's race or nationality. On a broader level, it can stem from negative stereotypes portrayed by media, such as Chinese people being 'nerds' or even bad experiences with that particular race.
(ii) A survey by Singapore’s government-linked Institute of Policy Studies released this year showed that over 30 per cent of citizens and permanent residents felt that nationality-based prejudice had risen over the past five years.

(i) There has been articles that are made over the recent years to share the stories of people with autism, dyslexia, and even people who are physically handicapped. Although they have been labelled a minority, there has been greater inclusivity over the past years. The reasons can be that there are more people being aware that they exists in our society, more people helping, more confrontation with the needs of the disabled.
(ii) The government has a lot of initiatives dedicated to people with special needs. Community help is readily available and there are sufficient platforms where handicapped people can also build greater social connections with diverse groups, in the app MiFinder.

1) It is said that greater social acceptance has come as a result of more people ages 18 to 35 knowing someone who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender as well as the efforts of high profile public figures. A large majority (70%) says individuals simply knowing someone who is LGBT has helped a lot in terms of making society as whole more accepting.
2) An IPS survey from 2018 showed that about half of those ages of 18 and 25 did not frown upon sex between adults of the same sex.
While people aged 65 and above, only 10 percent said that gay was not wrong

Increasing Xenophobic sentiments and intolerance for foreigners has been an upward trend for eons now. While colonialism in the past was a major expression of these sentiments, in today's times communal violence propagated through far-right nationalistic views seem to take its place. Germany is a prime example of this phenomenon, with scores of attacks on foreigners being on the rise since 2015. When many people in a synagogue in Germany were attacked by Stephan Balliet, it almost seemed like an ironic repetition of Germany's past. However, when juxtaposed wit the rise in right-wing nationalism in Germany, the power of division becomes quite clear.

(3) Political tolerance has increased steadily over the years most notably in the two latest generations,Millenials and Gen Z.Compared to previous generations such as the Baby Boomers political intolerance was the norm rather than tolerance this is largely due to the climate of the world during that time with the worlds combat against second rate political ideologies such as Communism and Fascism which has largely contributed to their inability to tolerate opposing political views. The difference between baby boomers and the newer generations is the presence of the internet. The internet was invented on the year 1983 by Mr Tim Berners-Lee. Meaning that it has been around for the entire lives of the latest generations which can be accounted for the increase in political tolerance. The internet allows access to a vast array of different information increasing exposure to others and their views that has been brought about by the Internet and other information and communication technologies. The Internet has broadened the scope of public debate, by giving a voice to those who had previously been marginalized by media-political elites. The gains for political pluralism have been enormous. This increased information and exposure gave individuals a larger perspective on the world around them and of the different political agendas forming a political tolerance that has never been noticed before in human history-Williams
