What a lovely progress on this project. What you've done well is the atmospheric sound, it fits perfectly with the clip. I also like how you recorded footsteps sounds and using toilet spray for the air condition.

However, try to add more elements within your background music, it will add more tension and emotions to your clip. Furthermore, when you're making a sound effect, try to make it your own (ADSR, Filters, Other Effects). Keep going and I'm very excited to see the final result.

Foley creation research idea

In Foley there is three main categories: Footsteps, movement track and the spots effects.
From this video clip about foley I learned few techniques to make my recording sound more realistic. For example when I recording footsteps I need to see the video clip and follow the movement and replicate it to make it much more realistic, to creat effect that is really happining in screen. Even if you recording only footsteps you need replicate what person wear, you can do it by picking something that looks or sound like original cloth and follow the movements and make sounds. And after that I dont need to waist my time putting them in-time maybe little fix, but not the whole thing. Thats why record foley with the screen is much better than just record something and than fit it in-time

Into my video clip I need few sounds that I dont really know how to make it. So I started doing reasearch in YouTube and I found one intresting video. I needed broking bone sound and his idea was breaking frozen lettuce or celery and I also find that I can use a pepper. Just smash it or brake it into few peace in front of microphone and you have sound of breaking bones.

I think I did good job on it because I did few little build up's I did intrigue for a whole video till something important happens, and in my opinion that's really important because you need hear what's going on not only see to make that great effect.

I think for music creation the most important thing is idea and how you want to present it and how you will present it. From Hanz Zimmer I have a lot of inspiration and motivation for what I'm doing. For a movie or a video clip you need to give a story, musical story that will make you more into what you are watching, it has to be something really different something really emotional and its doesn't matters its sad story, comedy or aggressive.

So another really important thing in making video clips or a film that's how sound moves. And by saying that I mean panning, volume and effects. If you will make a movie that will sound only in the middle it will not give that effect, that reality what you see and what you hear, it will make your movie alive.
So I tried to do this technique I added a lot of panning for sounds I used fade tool and a lot of effects. And I think it really works I made sound move with the movie.

      Critical Review

1.What sound creation techniques have you learnt?

When I started this task I didin't have any experiance at it. So I started to use my imagination how I could atchive at what I want to do I also started watch some of YuoTube videos, tutorial or documentary. So I think I've learned a lot of tecgniques in this task I've learned how to make foley sounds, how to act when you doing it to make it feel it real, how to use effects on it, panning, mixing & mastering, Its defferent thing from making and mix & master beats, you can use same techniques but you need to do it different.

2. Give examples of where your audio reflects the action/message on screen effectively

I think footsteps worked really well on my clip, also I used one sound that I really liked it was toilet a spray I used this as condition problem in clip. My favourite sound that I made was breaking leg sound I used pepper for it, I smash it, squeeze it and even punch it, after I put few of those sounds together and added some effects to it. So I think I did pretty good job with audio files.

3.What feedback, advice & guidance did others give you towards your work? How was this useful?

From my feedback that I had from class I worked on it. They say that I need more elements in background, add more effects to my audio files. I listened what they said to me I used that information but still I stick to my opinion. For example everyone said that I should make louder steps, but I think its not the most important think in video clip I made them hearable but not to loud, because I didn't want have all attention on footsteps, there is much more good and interesting sounds in background.

4. How well did you manage your time & work within a team?

I think I manage my time really well because I did this project on time, I didin't need to rush at the last moment. Everyday I was working on ti little by little, some days I spent whole day on this project doing some stuff, progress, many times I deleted my sounds because I wasn't happy with them, playing with EQ or any other effect just to get sound I want. I didin't really worked on my project with "team" just few times I asked for opinion or what I could do better, but I was helping other people to record, helping to make some foley sounds and giving my opinion.

5. Which elements of your project would your change/adapt if you had more time?

If I would have more time for this project I think I would't change a lot, I would re-record some footsteps, work more on background sound maybe change the main melody little bit, work more on effects, but overall I'm happy what I have done, and there is only few parts I could corrent a little bit, but not change.

6. How can your newly acquired skills be useful to other projects in the future?

I think all those skills will help me in future even if I'm not going to do audio tracks for videos. Because I learned a lot of techniques, and I improve my knowledge to this specific music technology part. And to be honest I really enjoy it and I have a lot of good time doing this project.
