From 1760 to 1830 the Industrial Revolution was confined to Britain. This is because the British forbade the export of machinery, skilled workers, and manufacturing techniques. This, therefore, gave the people of Britain (including the middle class) economic opportunities and more social influence. Two innovations that Britain creating during this period were the steam engine and incandescent lamp.

The Industrial Revolution spread to Europe from Britain between the 1780's and 1840's. The Revolution transformed the economy to be based on large-scale industry, manufacturing, and the factory system. New machines, power sources, and ways of organizing work made industries more productive. Because of this, the Spinning Mule and the Locomotive were created.

The Industrial Revolution spread to the United States in the 1790's and became prominent in the 1800's, making the US the most powerful industrial force. This was due to European immigrants coming to America and being used a laborers for a small fee. People like Eli Whitney, who invented the Cotton Gin and revolutionized the Cotton industry, created new designs or "borrowed" designs from Britain to enhance technology. Another invention during this time was the telegraph that allowed long distance communication. These inventions transitioned the United States from a large agrarian society to an urbanized one and increased the use of slavery.

The Industrial Revolution spread to Russia in the early 1890's after it spread to the U.S.. The industry focused on the production of railroads, eventually causing the creation of the Trans-Siberian Railroad in the late 19th century. This accomplishment allowed trade with eastern states like China, growing their economy. Russia also became a large steel producer during this time, further increasing profit. Due to all of this, Russia created the monorail and data recording equipment.

Starting in the 1870's, soon after Russia became industrialized, Japan borrowed enough industrial techniques to prevent western powers from destroying their cultural values. They did this by developing a new form of government that mixed Western industrial styles with their own, building more schools, and re-organizing their army. They also produced domestic locomotives and innovated the silk reeling machines.

"Industrialization" started in India around the 1830's while it spread to other parts of the world. Due to Britain's new influence, shipbuilding and iron works in India declined. Indian people were resistant to changes brought by the Revolution, and British colonization forced the economy to be dependent on British manufacturers, making it hard for industries to thrive. These regions were valued for their fertilizing guano, but did not invent much else during this time.

Industrialization in Egypt started around the 1920's. Egypt became a major producer of cotton and started a process of building an industrialized economy. However, Egypt's industrialization ultimately failed due to the power of Britain and failed leadership. This lead to a collapse of Egyptian power. Two exports that Egypt had were cotton and carpets, however, the failing economy eventually put an end to that.
