The hotel's conditions were rather questionable, but still of no hindrance the enjoyment we had there. We signed up for various programmes to occupy ourselves from morning to night each day. We reached there at almost midnight, and were supposed to sleep. Excited for what was to come, I stayed up for nearly two hours later than the others before succumbing to my sleepiness. On the first day, we zoom zoom on mountain trails on ATV very fast. I kid you not when I say they let a kid ride on an ATV alone. We also see and play with monke. Next day, ride elephant and good lunch. Visit temple have nice and interesting tour. Third day, go beach, build big big fort. I also dug a graveyard and buried people. I tried swimming and almost drowned. It was very fun. On the fourth morning, we enjoyed our final scrumptious breakfast and packed our belongings. We hopped on the bus and headed straight for the airport. Deported. My parents wanted to go overseas and travel to relax so they decided to plan a trip to Osaka, Japan with my cousins and relatives. It was the winter season at the time so we were all freezing when we arrived. We visited different tourists sites like the Osaka Castle and the Nature Walk at Minoo Park to see the big nature waterfall. These different destinations made me learn more about the culture and traditions in Japan. What I enjoyed the most during the trip is that I get to taste the different delicious street foods like Takoyaki, Ramen and fried dumplings. The scene of the sellers and customers communicating with each other casually felt so heartwarming as they look so comfortable with each other. However, one thing that was not enjoyable to me was the cold weather that kept making me shake during the whole trip. I had to wear many layers of clothes just to keep warm. It was memorable that I can remember till this day. It was in sec 1. On the first day of the trip, my parents brought me to some temples so that we could give prayers to the Buddha. After a few hours we went to the famous mango sticky rice and headed to the Pratunam night market which was very near to my hotel. Since the things sold there were very cheap, my parents decided to buy more things and even bought some of the things I even wanted! Looking forward to the next day, I held my excited emotions in my heart. 
My parents drove from the hotel to Khao Yai park where there was many sunflower plantations, taking some photos, we decided to harvest them and collected the sunflower seeds for consumption. It was indeed a memorable experience as we are able to work together as a family, and achieve our goal. My brother tripped himself into the pond, leaving him covered with mud. We did have some mishaps. I had terrible motion sickness when I was younger, which meant that I could not stand riding rollercoaster rides after the ride. I had to sit out and wait for my family to come back from one of the rides. However, on the way back home in my aunt’s car, we blasted music and sang along. This made my day a lot better. I was able to admire the beautiful scenery of the urban buildings and the unique wet markets in the city. However, we got scammed by the tuktuk driver. He charged us almost twice the price of a normal taxi driver in Bangkok. We were extremely devastated but the trip had to carry on. He planned the whole trip and the place was a quiet fishing village with breathtaking views of the ocean and the mountains. My brother is friends with a tour guide there, so he brought us around Portland to the various locations and taught us about the history of them and why they are so important. I’ve never been to a place like this , it was very peaceful and the night life there was unlike the nightlife that I usually experience in the cities of Singapore or New York. The food there was spectacular and easily made the trip even better. The best part of the trip was having been able to spend time with my brother alone. He is much older than me and we barely get to spend time together at all. This trip allowed us to go hiking and explore many areas of the island with complete freedom and go through many experiences together. One specific being where we walked through a circus set up by the beach at night. My brother and I aren’t really scared of clowns and mirrors , but this was the night that would change that. I remember how scared and paranoid we were walking through one of the tents that was filled with mirrors, the horror of that situation peaked when my brother and I could see each other. We slowly realised we were only looking at each other’s reflections and were both lost in the maze of mirrors. Luckily we survived and I escaped the maze with my brother waiting for me outside , the shock and his facial expressions when I saw him made it seem like he had seen a ghost, or a clown in this case. We were led into the museum, but it was pitch dark. The guide was guiding us through the experience just by their voice. It was tough to move about in the dark without being familiar with the surroundings, but as a family, we eventually succeeded. After we finished the tour, we realised that the guide that was leading us in fact blind. I went to the zoo and saw trainers feeding crocodiles. There was one incident that I remembered clearly and that was when we were riding an elephant, my slippers dropped and since the elephant was huge,we couldn't climb down it in the middle of the ride. But unexpectedly the trainer asked the elephant to pick my slippers and it actually understood it. To me, the elephant riding was the best experience I had in the entire trip.
I also remembered that there were unique taxis there which was similar to a motorcycle just that it had more seats and was also sheltered. As we were returning to our hotel, the driver suddenly drove to an alley that was very dim. This made us worried as we thought we were being kidnapped. But the two places that i will never forget, alishan and the night market.  The nightmarket offers a variety of delights, but especially their chicken cutlet. I really enjoy eating good food, that piece of chicken me and my cousins shared was scrumptious, very addicting. Alishan is a huge mountain though the cold was insufferable, the scenery there is nothing ive ever seen before. At night would be a stary night sky, morning was a golden sunrise. It was always my parents dream to go back to Japan as they had never forgotten the great atmosphere and people. So after my PSLE in 2018, we finally made our trip to Japan, Tokyo. We traveled many unique places around Tokyo, i dont really remember the specific names but I remember going to the unique shrines and visiting the crowded streets that are filled with the great night life. My favourite part of the whole trip had to be shopping.  I remembered how I would drag my parents in to the endless stores that were in front of me. Despite how they kept saying they wouldn’t find anything great, they ended leaving the store with more things than me. I remember laughing as they had to carry heavy bags filled with figurines of their favourite anime.  I spend two weeks over there and till this day i still have many photos of my trip on my phone. I also brought many  souvenirs back as i wanted some memory of this great experience. Truly it was a great trip and it was my first time ever going to a far country. As i usually would go to either Thailand or Hong Kong for a 4 day trip but this was my first time ever going to Japan and for a long vacation too. It was indeed relaxing and incredible.  After this trip, i realised that there are still many more countries to explore out there which are filled with even more adventures and scenery that we will never forget. We stayed there for about 4 days, 3 nights. Throughout those 3 days, we explored different places, and different malls. I remember visiting a place that allowed us to ride on elephants. We went to a hut and waited for the trainers to arrive with an elephant. As we rode on the elephant, we were told some facts about elephants. One of the most surprising facts being the fact that elephant feces could be made into coffee. The whole ride lasted for about two hours, and we even took pictures with the elephants, which is framed in our living room. This was a completely new experience for me, and it was something I never thought I’d ever do. I really hope that I could experience this again for the first time, maybe after the National exams I would visit Phuket, after all it has been 6 years since I last visited. We spent many hours hiking the mountain and it was a very tough time for us. Even though it was tiring, we tried our best to persevere and hike to the peak of the mountain. Finally, we did it and we were very proud of each other. When we were walking down the mountain, it was so unfortunate that the weather was bad. We brought umbrellas and raincoats in case we need them. It rained heavily and the wind was so strong that our clothes were wet. We went there for about two weeks. It was a unique experience to me. My family and i were living in an air bnb house. It was diffferent from the other trips i went to as we always stayed in hotels. I got to experience what living in one of the houses in Perth was like. There was one time when it started raining and we didn’t have umbrellas so my family and i were just walking in the rain. The weather was cold too as i went there during winter. We wanted to go to a museum but we did not know where it was. We were just aimlessly walking around and shivering in the cold. After a while, my family and i decided to wait at a bus stop till it stopped raining. By the time it stopped raining, it was evening and the attraction was closing. In the end, we did not go to the museum. We went somewhere to eat dinner and it started raining again. The restaurant was not open yet so we had to wait outside. The people in the restaurant saw us waiting and let us in. The people there were really nice and friendly and served us the food before the restaurant even opened. Another thing i like were how friendly everyone was there. Usually whenever i travel, it will just be my parents and i -> so whenever i want to play i.e rollar coaster, it will just be me myself as my parents are not that interested -> not fun. But that year was different especially how my cousin followed along the trip too, making the trip more memorable. 

- my cousin caught a dinosaur 🦖 soft toy using claw machine and gave it to me as a gift 

-other than my family, there was also a malaysian family travelling along together with us. We were all friendly to one another as we were from the neighbouring countries. They also took care of me like a family member. 

-tour guide was also companionable

what made the trip memorable was how the driver quarrelled with the tour guide as we did not reach the place on time. but my dad was like the “hero” who solved their problems which was kind of funny

Unfortunately, my dad does not. His views of travelling was an extreme dislike, though there was that one memorable vacation that changed everything. The trip that changed it all was our vacation to Bali, Indonesia. With the bustling cities on one end, and peaceful rural areas filled with flora and fauna, it was definitely a trip that was unforgettable. As an avid bike enthusiast, my dad had a huge passion for dirt-biking. It was only then, he managed to grab an opportunity to dirt-biking in Bali. It was a day never to be forgotten, seeing his wide smile after the experience. On the other hand, my mum and I treasured the luxurious spas and uniquely nostalgic sunset views.
