I have learnt that there are many ways to use collective nouns. Such as " A flood of visitors."

I selected a crowd of visitors. Which was wrong, I learnt something from my mistakes.

I also learnt that a collective noun is a word for a group of specific items, animals or people. For example, a group of ships is called a fleet, a group of cows is called a herd, a group of lions is called a pride, a group of baseball players is called a team, and a group of ants is called a colony. A group of chickens is call a broad of chickens.A group of elephants is call a herd of elephants. There is an EXAMPLE of a table of collective nouns. 😃

Collective nouns is the name we give to a group of nouns to refer to them as one entity. The most common method of doing this is by using words like group or bunch that can be applicable to most of the nouns in the language today. But there are some specific names given for certain groups of nouns to make things more interesting and funny. For example:

People: a class of students, an army of soldiers, a choir of singers, a band of musicians, a staff of employees or a group of dancers.

Animals: a catch of fish, an army of ants,a flock of birds, a hive of bees, a pack of wolves or a host of sparrows.

Things: A group of islands, a galaxy of stars, a wad of notes, a forest of trees, a stack of wood, a fleet of ships or a string of pearls.

One mistake I remembered was Question 14, it was '' This string of ___ of pearls belong to my Aunt Sayrah.

I chose Cluster and now I know the answer should be string of pearls.

These are the examples of Collective Nouns..

I learnt that a collective noun is a word for a group of specific items, animals or people. For example, a group of ships is called a fleet, a group of cows is called a herd, a groupd of lions is called a pride, a group of baseball players is called a team, and a group of ants is called a colony.
And i also learnt that with collective nouns,it will be easier to call a group of people, animals or items.
