The other day my dad and I had a very meaningful conversation. My dad told me, "looking back on how I lived, my advice would be, don't wait up on something just because there is time. Just because it's there now doesn't mean the opportunity will always be there. He applied it to my grandmother, who has been battling cancer for a while now. He acknowledged how tough she is, and how she has fought a hard fight, while he also acknowledged that things could take a turn at any moment. Sometimes you have to enjoy things while you can. This lesson will stay with me forever, and every thing I do now will be given with maximum effort just like it is my last opportunity to do so.

Larry is a companion, a friend, a dog, a brother. While he cannot speak, or understand what I am saying, he is always there for me when I need someone. While dogs really have nothing else to do, his presence and comfort will always be something I never take for granted.

In between a catchy chorus, or groovy guitar riffs, listening to music will always be my escape. Music is powerful in many ways, its ability to connect songs and memory's for good or for bad. Its ability to unite or tear people apart. Music can be a roller coaster at times, even when you're sitting in the car patiently waiting for your destination. Music can speed up too, when you're with your friends listening in disbelief that it is already time to go home. Music is very powerful, and will always be my escape.
