A strength i noticed was students on task/engaged. This supported students in interacting deeply with the learning. To build on this we could build in more student to student discourse, provide more productive struggle opportunities

A strength I noticed today was providing students with leadership opportunities to facilitate student-led think pair share protocols. This practice was supported students by giving them buy in, keeping them highly engaged, and support students with built in scaffolds by pairing higher students with lower students. To build on this, we could implement more student led activities to promote engagement in every student.

Due to using grade level curriculum (being planned and prepared, connecting to prior knowledge, and understanding content) ALL students were fully engaged and reading HFW and the fluency poem. The impact of this is they were able to identify and make statements like “I notice a suffix” and “there is a beginning blend” and “reading with expression”!!! This deepens students knowledge and prepares them for later grades and turns them into readers.
