Aan de ene kant wil ik verantwoord handelen maar aan de andere kant wil ik zoveel mogelijk glitters, plastic en weet ik veel wat voor troep verzamelen. Dit interne conflict is een totaal andere kant van het dilemma maar ik kan er niet om heen. Alleen de biologisch afbreekbare glitters van (synthetische) mica, lijken echt op de glitters die wij kennen. Helaas wordt mica, wat in alle make-up spullen etc. zit, door kinderarbeid gewonnen. Of synthetische mica echt goed is voor het milieu weet ik niet. Om hier achter te komen zou ik met wetenschappers moeten praten of zelf een onderzoek starten. Hier heb ik op het moment geen zin in want ik heb juist erg veel behoefte om te spelen met materiaal. De vraag is nu of ik er 1 groot geheel van maak of dat ik selecteer op gebied van thema en esthetiek om zo 1 goed werk te maken en de rest als proces te zien. 

Het liefst zou ik een groot ronddraaiend plateau hebben waar aan alle kanten objecten, foto's en films uitpuilen. De verschillende esthetieken in mijn werken zijn denk ik ontstaan doordat ik ook veel verschillende meningen heb over glitter. Ik snap de aantrekkingskracht maar heb er tegelijkertijd ook afschuw voor. Het is voor mij dus belangrijk om de verschillende ideeën te tonen. 
Ik heb een aantal foto's uitgeprint op verschillende formaten. De grootste is 100 x 130 cm en de kleinste 1.5 x 4 cm. Nu wil ik zo veel mogelijk materiaal verzamelen of nog bij maken. Hierbij denk ik aan:
- glitter stoelen
- goud gespoten nepplanten
- discoballen
- etc....

Toch ga ik dit niet uitvoeren. Toen ik in het lokaal stond waar ik ga presenteren realiseerde ik dat dit slechts een truc zou zijn om het er goed uit te laten zien maar dat het niet mijn concept zou versterken. Maar wat is mijn concept dan precies?

Het begon met het idee om sustainable glamour te ontwikkelen maar is verandert in een onderzoek naar de menselijke drang om dingen te versieren, met glitters. Het interessantste hierin vind ik de manier waarop mensen met eten omgaan. Aan de ene kant is biologisch verantwoord helemaal hip maar als het op glitter aankomt, verschuiven de normen en waarden. Tijdens kerst heb ik, voor een diner met vrienden, Hollandse hapjes met eetbare glitters gemaakt. Blokjes kaas met glitters en mozzarella, tomaat, basilicum stokjes met glitter. Mensen reageerden verrast maar ook walgend: 'Kan je dit echt eten?' 'Ja, je kunt dit echt eten! op de verpakking staat: niet giftig, niet eetbaar. Het zijn gewoon micro plastics maar die poep je weer uit.' De meeste mensen hebben deze hapjes gegeten en iedereen was verbaasd dat je de glitters niet proefde. Wat ik zelf het opvallendst vond, was dat niemand zo gechoqueerd had gereageerd als ik zoete hapjes met glitters had geserveerd. Kennelijk heeft men pas door dat iets ongezond is als het in hun hoofd niet klopt. Hartig met glitter hoort niet dus zal het vast slecht zijn. Terwijl bonbons met glitters wel oké zijn. Dit contrast vind ik erg interessant.
Voor de beoordelingen wil ik nu een eettafel maken. Hier kunnen zes mensen aan zitten. Op tafel staan verschillende hartige gezonde hapjes met eetbare glitter. Daarnaast zijn er op tafel verschillende werken van mij te zien. Zo kun je dus dineren terwijl je kijkt naar een gebroken ei met glitters of wordt aangestaard door het meisje wat kipnuggets met glitters opeet. 

Het werk is nu verandert van een onderzoek naar glitter naar een experiment waarin mensen hun zintuigen voor gek kunnen zetten. Het werk moet vragen bij mensen laten opkomen: Wat ik eet ik nu? Moet ik dit wel eten? Is dit giftig? Eet ik vaker plastic? Vind ik dit mooi of vies? etc... Het wordt een combinatie tussen kijken en ervaren. 

Voor het kerstexperiment dacht ik dat de mensen waarmee ik zou zijn, voornamelijk vegetariërs en een aantal vega's, het niet zouden eten. Maar kennelijk is de aantrekkingskracht toch sterker dan de normen en waarden. Het eten van glitters geeft een kik: 'Ha, ik heb net glitters opgegeten' oftewel 'Ha, ik heb net microplastics opgegeten.'
