According to Clifton's Strengths, my top five strengths include discipline, positivity, developer, and relator.

All of my strengths excluding discipline which is in the 'Executing' category are considered to be in the category of 'Relationship Building.' I feel that these assets would help me build a compelling team that is focused on fostering others' potential, empathizing with and understanding another person's feelings, showing optimism while being enthusiastic, and achieving goals while forming close bonds with the team while promoting efficiency, structure, and routine.

  • Before day 10, the sensor could malfunction or detach from the body.
  •  If your sensor fails before the 10-day mark, you can't easily restart it and will have to attach a new one. 
  • The "urgent low" signal of 55 mg/dL cannot be disabled.
  • It can be pricey whether you have insurance or not, especially since the system calls for sensors and a transmitter that both require a prescription. 
  • Your phone or insulin pump's Bluetooth connection could be lost, which would reduce the data's dependability. 
  • Not all smartphones are compatible (see the Dexcom smartphone list for further information). 
  • Plastic auto-inserter is bulky and takes up room in storage and transit.

Before the G6 was released, I wore the previous version, which was the G5, and it was excruciating to insert. The insertion of the G6 is essentially painless, and I no longer have to manually check my blood sugar daily unless I need to recalibrate my Dexcom or feel like the readings aren't accurate. Having the Dexcom G6 allows me to sleep peacefully at night, knowing that if my blood sugar gets too high or too low, it will alarm and notify me. There are times when I'm asymptomatic if my blood glucose level is high or low, and it's comforting knowing I have the ease of looking at my apple watch or iPhone to determine my blood sugar. As with all technology, there are kinks to be worked out, such as the CGM reading "Bluetooth unavailable" at times, but I firmly believe that the benefits outweigh the cons.
