i Think colonists went to croatoan island because according to my recources when the colonists dissapeared there was the word croatoan carved into a tree which i think means that they went to the craatoan islands after jhon white left and didnt come back after a long time. so thats why when he did come back he wasnt there

Theory 8:I think they were took to a different island with a friendly colony since there was no trace of them and also the evidence is "However, when John White returned to Roanoke in 1590, he did not find any bones or bodies or any signs of fighting. Perhaps the Natives covered up any signs of fighting."

I think they went to Croatoan Island because they added a mark on a tree that said that's where they went and JW never went there to prove even if it was attempted so its most likely they went there. Also since they have already gone there before and were lacking resources, it's likely they went back there. Evidence to support my claim is "After leaving Roanoke to get more supplies John White planned to return in 6 months but instead returned 3 years later. When he arrived, he found no one there and the word "CROATOAN" was carved into a tree, as were the letters "CRO" nearby." This shows that they probably ran out of all resources and were struggling to live because JW had to leave to get more supplies and was supposed to take 6 months but instead took 3 years which probably left them vulnerable. Their only option was to go to Croatoan and they clearly left a sign saying that's where they went. Another piece of evidence to support my claim is "after John White's failed attempt to reach the island in 1590, no other attempt was made for another 80 years." This shows JW failed to go to Croatoan so he wouldn't know if they did go there or not, and he wasn't able to check so they were most likely over there and he just didn't know.

I think that the colonist died from a disease because they were very vulnerable and did not have anything that could save them for if they did get a disease, plus they are always sticking together so the disease would spread quicker. One piece of evidence from theory 6 is "The colonists did not have access to modern medical treatments or vaccines, which could have left them vulnerable to diseases." this proves they got killed by a disease because it says if they did they could not get anything to take it away. No medicine or vaccines.
