I think Clicker 8 (software) and Clicker Writer (similar app) are great Universal Design for Learning tools. They have excellent features that would be especially beneficial for students who are ELL but are great supports to offer all students who might need them.

Clicker has these scaffolded writing activities that guide students through the steps of independent writing. The activities range from guiding through sentence creation and extend to a word processor that has additional support in word banks, spelling, grammar, word prediction, dictation, picture supports for words (you can set it so a picture of a word comes up with most words as you type them), lots of other features. It's hard to explain without seeing it in action so I've added a video to this post.

If anyone wants to check it out I think there's a limited trial version for the Clicker Writer app.

I have used Screen Reader in the past to see how a course can be accessed by visually impaired users. It helps to ensure that everything is designed to be universally accessible for all learners.
I think it is a great tool to use!

- Emma Pindera
