Hello Pisces project partners! Please respond on this Padlet to the following four prompts:
1) In case others don't know, describe an outcome/process in your work that you are excited about that was supported, at least in part, by the grant.
2) What is the future of CREE in EE in your context?

3) How might we (eeVAL and/or the grant Core Team) support your work going forward?
4) Share a picture (personal or professional!) if you wish.

1) This grant supported a lot of deep thinking around whether "collective evaluation" is even the right term to describe what we are doing! I am excited to continue exploring the nuances between different terms in this area.

2) I'm looking forward to using CREE concepts to push my research to be more responsive. Specifically, since I work in youth engagement, I'm challenging myself to build better partnerships with young people from the onset of my evaluation / research efforts.

3) I'm interested in pursuing evaluation as a potential career path, and I'd love to stay connected with this team to get advice on following that path and to hear about any potential job openings that you're aware of.

4) Here's a picture of my new pup, Nutmeg! I adopted her about a month ago, and she's the cutest 25-pound ball of chaotic energy around.

Look what we have done together!

I am excited by many parts of this work that identifying just one is sooooo difficult. I have to say that I didn't expect to engage this work 5 years ago, and I didn't expect to join such a rich, productive, creative, and fun network of new and existing friends/colleagues.

I hope that the future for me includes continuing to curate and improve the portal, and to constantly listen for new stories and new needs from the field that it can address. I also hope to collaboratively create some scholarly articles for the field! As I step back next year from some of my Duke duties, I wonder if I might actually DO some evaluating myself!!!

Char

Greetings all. I'm sorry I won't be able to join you today; I am on a team leading a workshop to empower new community partners to use deliberative forums to build community capacity.
1-2. I look forward to revising the Evaluating Your Environmental Ed Programs workbook with an eye toward CREE thinking and practice and aligning it with the portal. Together they should really help EE'ors!
2-3. I'd like to encourage and support students and others in adapting and testing some of the scales in the portal with non-majority cultures to better understand how to measure their connections to nature, efficacy, environmental attitudes, and relevant behaviors. Seems like there is a lot we don't know.
4. I think I'm adding a photo of a chuck wills-widow on a nest. She is sitting under a turkey oak leaf just beyond the blue flag that my neighbor planted so we could all find her. They sing every evening (or maybe he does) and they help make this part of the world quite special.

I am excited that we materialized a networked approach to evaluation. We helped educators improve their evaluation skills and attitudes, and all of us learned more about how to design effective online programs (or program elements).

I am interested in working with others to translate these tools and related research into practice. In my work on the VAEE certificate advisory board, I plan to share the website and resources with educators throughout the state during our guidelines trainings. I agree with Martha that a lot of the tools in the portal are a good starting point, and testing and adapting them with more diverse audiences is an important next step.

Here's a photo I took during the lunar eclipse Sunday night, which does not capture the moment well but reminds me of the feeling of awe I experienced as I watched. I had a magical moment where I heard a barred owl in my yard while watching the eclipse.

I have loved pulling CREE practice and thinking into my courses, my youth development programs and my outreach programs. And it has been fun to work with our community partners and celebrate process with them.

The future of CREE in my work relates to our outreach and community partnerships -- I look forward to practicing CREE here on the coast and using ideas from the portal in our programming and partnerships.

I also continue to enjoy working with students to help them navigate evaluation in the their environmental projects and working with them to think about CREE and process instead of just outputs. The journey is important :)!

My photo is from our spring break visit to the Seattle aquarium. I am a full sucker for every single cutout photo opportunity. And luckily my family thinks these photos are funny so they always play along... for now (who knows what will happen as I venture further into the teenage years!).

I will try to jump on the call from my phone to see all your faces, but I can't stay long... I was fully out last week with COVID and had to reschedule a dr appointment for today :(.
