Choose one topic to elaborate on from 13 topics in syllabus...

                                                               Topic 12:
Participate in a local learning community to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.

Elaboration:
I feel that this is important, not only in a classroom, but pretty much in life, because we as people, learn through experience. we learn by doing things over and over, and we can only do things over and over if we are literally doing them. For example, in a computer education class, the best way to learn how to use the new academic programs or blog sites that are required in the course, may best be learned through following the teacher with the student own laptop, in a actual computer lab, so the students have access.

Though its okay to sometimes learn through watching or hearing someone teach, most things in life require us to actually participate in a action, which again, makes the point of having and engaging in a learning community very important.

What Are my Professional Goals?

In the past few years, I have developed two sides to what I want to achieve professional.

I started off only wanting to focus on my educational based profession, which is Early Childhood Education, because I grew up always wanting to help give back to children. I didn't start with E. C. Education initially though, but with psychology. I enjoyed learning about people behaviors, and felt that I could do that for the rest of my life, but could not quite figure out what job I would want to do in that field. I then moved to Occupational Therapy, but figured I would need a masters in that field so, then finally came across Early Childhood, and found a perfect match.

So, for my Education based career, I plan on getting my Bachelors degree in E. C. Education, and then if I continued on to a Masters, I would get it in OT or Psychology, but have dreams of developing a career in Performing Arts as well.

I grew up very active in the performing arts, and in the past couple years, I realized how I wanted to try and peruse my talents in a full blown career.

In doing that, my goals include networking with other talents and people in the industry that can give me advice and tips, or who can even set up work with me. I want to join clubs, groups or team that can help me develop my skills in singing, acting, modeling, etc. And lastly, after i finish school, I want to move to ATL Georgia, to completely consume myself in an environment that is extremely industry based, for more exposure and opportunities.

As a long term goal, I want to find a way to combine the uses of my degree with my career in the arts, so that nothing goes to waste and hopefully opens doors for someone trying to do what I have down.
