Following the first Gulf War in 1991 and following the invasion of Allied forces in Iraq in 2003, oil installations were damaged in Kuwait.
The Middle East is rich in resources, but has little water and farming/agriculture, attributed to climate change and global warming. Mass scale crude oil burning with superpowers causes huge levels of carbon pollution due to wealth of nations this could be avoided with green alternatives, e.g. wind turbines.
Superpowers such as China and the USA are set to benefit from oil reserves made accessible by global warming in the Arctic. This will limit their desire to slow or attempt to reverse global warming effects.
