My old hobbies were sleeping and playing games. My new hobbies are improving self and striving for the best.

I wish that i can gain much knowledge from this usrah and that myself can be improved better after attending all the Usrah classes.

Today’s topic, the facilator highlights more on Pillars of Islam. There are 5 of them, which are;

1. Shahadah

2. 5 Times Fardhu Prayers / Salah

3. Zakat

4. Fasting during the month of Ramadhan

5. Perform Hajj

The faci also shares about a story where there was an unfamiliar man that came to see RasuluLLAH SAW and asked about these 3I— What is Islam, Iman, and Islam?

The man turned out to be Malaikah Jibril A.S. So the Angel Gabriel explains about Pillars of Islam and Iman, and also Ihsan to Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Analogy was given by the facilitator about this 3I.

Imagine a thriving tree— its roots are Iman, its trunk and branches are Islam, and its fruits are Ihsan.

Iman (faith) forms the foundation, Islam (practices) is the structure that grows from it, Ihsan (excellence in worship and character) is the result.

The faci also has assigned us a task where we need to state our favourite surah, and explain why that Surah is our favourite.

Mine is Surah Ar-Rahman! The reason is, this is the only Surah where that one specific verse is being repeated 31 times in the Surah. And that is

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

“Then which of your Lord’s favours will you ˹humans and jinn˺ both deny?”

From this verse alone, can be a reminder for us and makes us reflect on ourselves.

• We can decorate our house in Jannah through ZikruLLAH;

  SubhanaLLAH, AlhamduliLLAH, Laa ilaha illaLLAH, ALLAHUAkhbar

There are a few sharing from the facilitator, which are;

• The Da’wah stories of Nabi Nuh A.S.

• The story of a disability person comes to the mosque.

• Practice istighfar as a daily habit - AstaghfiruLLAHal ‘Azhim

• Try to get close to al-Quran, as there are many interesting, meaningful, and full of wisdom stories that for sure ALLAH SWT wants us to take a lesson from them. —The Quran will also come at us as an intercession (Syafa’ah) in the Day of Judgement.

There are minor signs and major signs of it.

The example for the Minor Signs are women will outnumbered men, times will pass rapidly, and the river of Ifrit will dry.

The faci also has explained a few things about Dajjal. One of it is he will not age.

The example for Major Signs of the coming of the day of judgement are the release of Dukhan smoke, the appearance of Dabbah, the coming of Dajjal, and the return of Prophet ‘Isa A.S

The faci explains about our manners towards our parents. As in Islam, parents hold a high status, so it is a must for us to give great respect and honour to them. We need to prioritise our family, especially our parents than anyone else.

Other than that, the faci also shares some stories;

• The story of Nabi Ibrahim A.S

• The story of Imam Ghazali and Sheikh Junayd. —Where Syeikh Junaid is being tested. Imam Ghazali asked his students to take a bird and bring it to place that no one can see and kill the bird there. After that, everyone came with a dead bird in their hands, except for Syeikh Junaid. The bird in his hand is still alive. When Imam asked him, he said that he can’t find a place where no one can see him. As ALLAH is The All-Seeing. There is no place that ALLAH can’t see.

  This shows how strong the faith in Syeikh Junaid self. And how he prioritise ALLAH SWT in everything he do.

6 Pillars of Iman;

1. Belief in ALLAH SWT

2. Belief in the Angels

3. Belief in the Holy Books of ALLAH

4. Belief in the Messengers of ALLAH

5. Belief in the day of Judgment

6. Belief in the Divine Decree

All these pillars of Iman related to the concept of Tawheed (Worshipping the one and only God, ALLAH)

The faci also has stated that there are 3 Tawheed;

1. Tawhid Rububiyyah

2. Tawhid Uluhiyyah

3. Tawhid Asma’ wa sifat

Other than that, the faci stated the relations between Tawheed and the Pillars of Iman. These include; increasing our tawakkal (Reliance on ALLAH) and help increase our gratitudeness towards ALLAH SWT.

The faci also shared stories about the prophets. One of them is the story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. The difficulty that Nabi Ibrahim faced in the path of Da’wah.

Lastly, the faci also sugegsted us to watch a video titled ‘Angels in Your Prayers’ by Omar Sulaiman!

On the first class of usrah, the facilitator conducted a Ta’aruf session. We are asked to sit in a circle. Everyone needs to tell their names, preferred to be called name, hometowns, origins, and courses.

After the Ta’aruf sesson, we proceed with Ice Breaking session. We played the ‘2 Truths and 1 Lie’ game. Everyone needs to tell 3 statements about oneself, 2 of them are facts, and there is 1 lie. The rest needs to guess which one is the lie.

My 3 statements were:

1. I once joined a long distance run while covering my nose and mouth throughout the whole run.

2. I eat a lot in a day. Like, a lot.

3. I am a handball athlete and I once represented my state, Sabah in MSSM.

Can you guess which one is not true?

Hehe, the last one!

The first class of usrah only fun, game, and bonding. :D

‎رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةًۭ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

🌟 Translation: Our Lord, grant us the best of this life and the best of the hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201]

Preparing for Jannah 🌴🏡

By striving for Jannah, we can:

✅ Increase our good deeds – Encouraging kindness, charity, and sincere worship 🤲

✅ Avoid sinful actions – Knowing that Jannah exists motivates us to stay away from haram 🚫

✅ Build strong relationships – Supporting one another in righteousness strengthens our bond as an Ummah 🤝

Ways to Enter Jannah 🌟

Jannah is not only for those who pray and fast—it is also for those who spread kindness and do good with sincerity 💖✨

🕊️ Be kind and forgiving – “Shall I tell you about the people of Jannah? Every gentle and humble person.” (Tirmidhi)

🍞 Feed the hungry – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Feed the poor, spread peace, and you will enter Jannah.” (Ibn Majah)

🗣️ Speak good words – Even a small smile 😊 or a kind word 💬 can be a path to Jannah!

The Vastness of Jannah 🌌

🔹 Qur’an (3:133-134):

“And hasten towards forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those mindful of Allah.”

🌍💫 This verse shows the unimaginable vastness of Jannah—an eternal home for those who strive for righteousness!

The Beauty of Jannah ✨

🔹 Hadith Qudsi (Sahih al-Bukhari):

“I have prepared for My righteous servants pleasures that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and have never crossed the heart of any human.”

🌺 Imagine: Rivers of milk 🥛, honey 🍯, and pure water 💦 flowing through lush gardens 🌿, with golden palaces 🏰 and endless joy 🌸!

💡 Final Thought:

Strive for Jannah by doing both small and big good deeds—for every act of sincerity brings you one step closer to eternal bliss! 🤲💖

I hope that I can be a servant that loves her God more than anything, and is being loved by her God too.

I’ve gained a lot throughout this Usrah. Especially in Islamic teachings. I love how every usrah, we started with the recitation of Suratul Kahf first, in line with the Sunnah of RasuluLLAH SAW where we’re encouraged to recite the first and ten last verses of Surah Al-Kahf to protect us from the fitnah of Dajjal in the future.

This usrah also helps in being a reminder for us. As it discusses the ethical behaviour, the etiquette, and manners as a Muslim. For example, etiquette in seeking knowledge and manners towards our parents.

“This verse of Surah Ali-‘Imran verse 133-134 and the hadith qudsi highlights about the vastness of Jannah. And how beautiful Jannah is to the point that we can’t even imagine it with our five senses. So, it is an obligation for us to secure our place in the eternal home, our final destination— JannatuLLAH.”
