Before my first day of Kindergarten, all of my Elementary school teachers assigned the parents to read this book to their kids. This book entailed a mother sending her baby off to school for the first time. The mother left a kiss on her baby's hand for her baby to hold with itself throughout the day, in case it felt lonely or scared. It tells the story of "Camilla" who is being bombarded with patterns all over her body for unknown reasons. In the end, it's revealed that the cure to this bad case of stripes is to just be herself. It's a great message to students who may be insecure or feel like they don't fit in. At one point, my mom and I even took a cupcake to "Jilly's", which is a famous cupcake place in St. Louis. I gave the cupcake to a worker to give to the head chef, but there was never any response.
