      <description>After earning a master&#39;s degree in computer science from Shanghai University of Science and Technology, and a PhD in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Dr. Jie Wu subsequently began teaching at FAU. He spent 19 years at the school, earning distinguished professor status while also completing several research projects supported by the National Science Foundation and Motorola, among other organizations. Since 2009, Dr. Jie Wu has served as department chair and professor at Temple University. In addition, he is the director of the university&#39;s Center for Networked Computing and director of international affairs at its College of Science and Technology.

Beyond teaching and overseeing departments at the school, Dr. Wu has published dozens of peer-reviewed research articles on topics, such as multi-tiered networks, cloud-based data center networks, and community home-based multi-copy routing in mobile social networks. 

He is a fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and has served as a chair at numerous IEEE conferences.
