Having a look on tesco mobile and came across their deal and the month! With prices starting from £12.50 a month for 24 months..... for the smallest package but you can add more data/minutes/messages but obviously at a cost but at half price it's not a bad price at all.

Referring to money supermarkets most popular sim only deal I actually looked and found this one which I thought was a better deal with unlimited minutes and texts and 2500 mb and month only terms so no massive contracts all for £6.99 a month. The only thing is its with a company I've never heard of which slightly puts me off but as I wouldn't be signed into a massive 12 or 24 month contract for £6.99 I'd probably be willing to give it ago.

I'm an iPhone user and will most likely get the new one when I renew my contract. However, as that's not out yet I'll look at 6S prices. Tesco worked out the cheapest, with £42 for 3000 mins, 5000 texts and 4GB of data. Vodafone and EE were higher prices, though they did offer some perks, including data allowances in the EU, BT Sport subscriptions (EE) and Sky Sports subscriptions (Vodafone). Whilst these are tempting perks, I would still go for the best value deal which is Tesco. I also looked at what phone I would go for if I couldn't or didn't want to pay for one of the better phones such as an iPhone or Samsung G7. I found that again Tesco was by far the best network, with a contract on a Motorola Lumia 550 for £7.50 a month with no upfront cost. The cheapest contracts on both EE and Vodafone were both over twice as much.

Pete - For the purpose of the exercise I did a brainstorm about what I needed from a mobile phone before I looked at models and tariffs. For me, I need a smartphone which affords access to email, unlimited texts, unlimited calls, 5-6 GB of data, Facebook, streaming media (youtube or amazon prime), a half decent camera and apps for online banking. I'm an IPhone user and as such I cant see me changing to another model. I'm quite active and would potentially consider an alternatively more robust phone, but for the moment I am satisfied with my IPhone 6 and would only consider an upgrade to a 6S as I'm too lazy to familiarise myself with another model (cameras and RAM don't particularly interest me ). I looked at providers which offer a reliable service (in this case Vodafone and O2) as an alternative to EE. I then compared these to Tesco. Looking at the 16GB IPhone 6s, I was looking for something around the 5GB of data mark for around £40 monthly tariff.

In the past I have used GiffGaff when they were sim only and to be honest had a bad experience as the signal kept dropping. I have since found out they now sell phones with their contracts on a credit agreement similar to Tesco. I found this which is most similar to my current Tesco tariff but works out a few pence more a month. I guess the major advantage with giffgaff is that it is a sim free phone, which is a nice feature - especially as I am buying the phone so why should I be tied down. I also like the flexibility of giffgaffs 30day contract. If it wasn't from my previous reliability issues, I would probably very seriously consider this deal.

Steve

So I've popped into tesco phone shop today and found some good deals on display. This you can't miss as you walk through the door, but with good reason they want you to know about it. I like that fact they offer you a little bit back end. Glad £20 gift card to spend at tesco 😀 that's an extra little bonus and would come in handy.

Still looking and comparing I phones. And came. Across this deal again in store at tesco! This is such good value at £17 a month! I would actually consider this as my next contract. I know it's an older handset but £17 month 16gb is really good value.

So I've checked out a few handsets including the 3 recommended in your email and liked the huawei p9 for the camera but seemed like it could be very pricey. The HTC again was OK and liked the fact it seemed stronger then most handsets, but I really liked the Alcatel it's looks great, classy, curved edges, slim, loved how there no right way up, and you can turn it right round. Not too bad a camera, but shame it isnt alittle better as this is a must for me with lots of kiddies and memories to catchso i do love to have a half decent camera. The other thing that disappoints me Is the light plastic it is made of, I would like a slim classy phone but one that is not going to smash into a hundred pieces if I accidentally drop it.

I currently use an iPhone 6 and because all of my associated music etc is on this platform I would want to get another model of phone, I fear that changing the model of phone to anything except an apple would cause headaches and issue with forgotten passwords, lost music and incompatible files. Therefore I looked on confused.com, and other websites, and obviously due to their popularity, I found that all the Apple and Samsung phones appeared first on the list on phones, even if I had asked for phones to be displayed in alphabetical or price order. This means that most people wont look past these phones, and will chose one of them. I have heard of Huawei, Alcatel and HTC, but wouldn't have a Huawei or Alcatel, as my (un-informed) view of them is that they are cheap and probably wont last the contract. HTC my husband has had in the past, and it was a good phone, so out of these three brands I would consider HTC the most. However after watching the reviews - I still don't feel that any phone would draw me away from an Apple product. there is only an approximate £5-£10 difference between the handset cost so I would rather pay the difference and stick to an apple product.
The top two images are of deals I found on a comparison website, and the prices are very similar to what I pay now. The bottom two deals are on Tesco Mobile. I wouldn't pay upfront for a phone, I would rather pay monthly for it, an upfront charge puts me off straight away. Again the difference in price isn't significant enough to make me change from what I already have.
One good point I noticed is that you can cap usage, could be perfect for sons/daughters?!!
