This book is quite different to other books I have read as there are illustrations every few pages. These illustrations help make the book become more life like. The book is also set up different to other books as their is the normal book layout. Throughout the story there are two characters who email and chat online a lot. The book also contains a definitions in the words of the main character. I find this aspect of the book really cool and it allows you to feel the characters feelings and outlook on things a lot better.

I think that this book does relate to life. This is because it shows the struggles of being a teenager. As well as how parents struggle to deal with their children growing up and not being able to control them every second. Anyone with over protective parents can relate to Maddy's issues with how overbearing her mother is.
