I often praise and encourage staff contributions and their professional development and learning. I also enjoy learning about each staff member and sharing positive moments. Most times, I encourage manageable workload and for staff to ask for help (advocate for self).

I'm really interested in trying Strategy #3 Activity on pages 44-46. In the coach's role, I'll collaborate this idea with the Site Supervisors to do during a staff meeting. This may take time to collaborate and intentionally plan.

I will use the Focus Model as described in the book. We will utilize this strategy during our monthly staff meeting so all staff can contribute to solving the problem.

You can't see this clearly but my strengths are praising & celebrating staff. I love this. You can't give enough shouts to people no matter what it is. I support staff learning. I love to learn and open to learn from others. I believe it helps to strengthen your knowledge and learn what others know. I am not the only one with ideas. I enjoy sharing positive moments with staff. Another strength is having a manageable workload. I must model this but managing my time effectively so staff will also have time to do their work. Lastly asking help is important. I ask for help and proud of it. It is not a weakness to ask for help. It is a strength, that's what I want staff to know and learn as well.

I haven't completed it yet but I believe always strengthen the almost always/strengths and improve on modeling and teaching effective communication and encouraging staff collaborative problem solving. I will write this plan out and put it in a place I can see it.

I praise and celebrate staff contributions.

An example of this: Recently a staff member asked about hosting a "family gardening day". I said I was open to it and asked her if she'd be willing to be "in charge" of the whole event (from planning to execution). She was so excited, and it was definitely a boost in confidence for her. While it wasn't done exactly "the way I would have done it" - it didn't matter to me. It's always more important to me that my staff feel good about taking initiative and have some ownership in our school.

I could work more on encouraging collaborative problem solving with staff. I tend to just take care of any issues that arise, rather than encourage problem-solving and creative ideas as a group.

A goal of mine would be to encourage collaborative problem solving with staff. Due to my position, I make certain decisions, it would be helpful to get more input from staff. My position is different and I do not have a team, I support other teams but do not have one of my own. I would have to get creative to accomplish this goal.

I think using our employee engagement survey to get staff input on some problems that i am trying to solve, as well as my coaching and reflective spaces.
