In The Hunger Games, the whole society is controlled by a central government. Every year they have a "game" where 2 people from each district are chosen to participate. When everyone is chosen they are forced to train, once they are trained they are put into a last man standing game. You are put into this game with a partner from your district, but there can only be one winner. 

The main character (Katniss Everdeen) shows nonconformity by standing against the government. At the end of the first hunger games she attends, it is her and her district partner. "Insist on yourself; Never imitate." - Emerson. In this movie The Fed Ex executive, Chuck Noland, (Tom hanks) was on his way to Malaysia When his plan crashed in the ocean. He washes ashore of a deserted Island and tried to make a raft to sail away and find help. When that failed, he had to learn how to survive on this island by himself. He decides to open all the packages that washed ashore with him to see if anything could help him. He ends up finding a Wilson volleyball. He puts his hand print, in blood, on the volleyball and draws a face on it and named it Wilson. By doing this he is creating his only company for the many years he will be on this island. 

This is self reliance because Chuck had to rely on himself to stay alive when on this island.  He had to figure out how to cope with what he had available with him and still keep his imagination running. "Accept the place the divine providence has found for you, the society of your contemporaries, the connections of the events." - EmersonChuck had to accept what he was forced into. He had to rely on himself to make it through his time on the island, by keeping his imagination flowing through Wilson. Wall - E was a robot to clean the earth, one piece of trash at a time and he even has the last living plant on earth. By his 700th year he has created a personality and he became lonely. A spaceship drops EVE off to search for hope for life on earth again. 

This movie was all about a plant and the condition of earth. Wall - E did everything in his power to protect the plant at any circumstances. He found this plant while cleaning the earth. "In the woods we return to reason and faith." -Emerson. The people on earth, before they evacuated it, didn't care about the earth and nature and that is how it go to the point to where they had to leave. Filk is an inventor ant and is seen as an outcast from the others. All the other ants thought his inventions were wacky. He always believed in himself through it all. 

This is intuition because Filk always believed in himself and his work and knew that he could advance if he kept working hard on all his inventions. "I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." -Thoreau.

She has a wig that covers her face so people focus on her voice. 

This is simplified life because she would rather be known for her talent rather than her face. She wants to live a simple life without all the trouble of fame, she would rather do what she loves with out complications.
