-Punta Huacho & Playa Chorrillos: calm beaches, good to walk and enjoy the sea breeze

-Trujillo / Chicama Valley nearby — if you want to extend your trip from La Libertad / Lima region

- From Lima: buses every day (~2 h 30 min) — safe and frequent

- Inside the city: small buses, taxis or mototaxis; always agree the price before getting in

- If going to ruins/beaches: short taxi or public bus rides

- Ceviche de pescado, chicharrón de pescado — fresh from the sea

- Seco con arroz, arroz con pato

- Dulces: mazamorra morada, arroz con leche

- Always eat at clean, busy places — safer and tastier

If you visit Cajamarca, visit the Plaza de Armas, Baños del Inca, and Cumbe Mayo. take a taxi, bus, or mototaxi.Try cuy, cheese, and humitas. People speak Spanish and some speak Quechua. The money is the Peruvian Sol. Wear warm and comfortable clothes because the weather is cold. You can also enjoy the Cajamarca Carnival. Take many pictures and don't be disrespectful with the local culture.

visit Machu Picchu, you can travel by train or bus from Cusco. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes because you will walk a lot. Bring some cash because not all places accept cards. The currency is the Peruvian sol, and most people speak Spanish. Respect the archaeological site, take photos, follow the guide's instructions, and enjoy the beautiful views. Don't litter, don't touch or climb the ruins, don't feed the animals, and don't leave the marked trails.
