         <description><![CDATA[<div>- The congress could mint money.<br>*This means the congress could make/produce money in a minting facility.<br>- Congress could settle conflicts.<br>* Could only settle conflicts between states.<br>- Congress could negotiate treaties.<br>* Congress could make treaties with other countries and didn't have to ask for the states approval.<br>- There was a limited government<br>* Having a limited government prevented tyranny.<br>- Congress could ask the states for money and soldiers but they could deny their requests.<br>* Although congress could ask for them the states did not have to go through with their requests.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Why it failed...</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Due to the Articles of Confederation's weaknesses, it was a failed attempt for many reasons. One being that they only had a legislative branch because they didn't have a president or a national court system. Another reason is because each state only had one vote in congress. This rule still applies no matter how many delegates are sent. States with larger populations did not like this set-up. The last reason is because states had the power to refuse to meet congresses requests. The Articles failed because everyone focused on the weaknesses rather than the strengths.</div>]]></description>
