         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>birds</li><li>14 - 28 Oct, International House Parkville, tree right outside Wadham</li><li>Number of observations made a day</li><li>More frequent observations = more birds spotted, Rainbow lorikeets mostly come in pairs and the red wattlebird seems to be very territorial</li><li>More consistent way of measuring effort by also recording the times where no birds were seen and ask a friend from a different room to help with the survey as it is very difficult to identify and spot a bird on the other side of the tree as more leaves starts to grow in spring</li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

Number of ducks observed during the walk<br>4. Larger numbers of ducks observed (&gt; 50), species include native ducks (Pacific black ducks, Australian wood ducks, chestnut teals, hardheads) and introduced ducks (Muscovy ducks, khaki campbells) Most abundant: Pacific black ducks<br>5. I will survey the abundance of each species instead of the total abundance of all duck species, then  I can find the ratio of native ducks: introduced ducks.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Number of Eucalyptus globulus trees found on a neighbourhood walk.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><div>1.<em>Eucalyptus</em> trees, specifically <em>Eucalyptus globulus</em> trees. <br><br>2. The study was completed in Keysborough South, during a 25 minute walk (Total distance 1.18 km) in the local area.<br><br></div><div>3. The study counted the number of <em>Eucalyptus globulus </em>that were passed during the walk, with trees on either side of the road being counted. During the walk, every time I walked past a <em>Eucalyptus globulus </em>tree, it was recorded in notebook.<br><br></div><div>4. A total of 115 <em>Eucalyptus globulus </em>were counted, with a particularly higher density of trees in the park area.<br><br></div><div>5.If I was to do this again, I would probably extend the walking time and try to make the route a little longer and more including of different environmental features, so that a representative sample of the number of <em>Eucalyptus globulus </em>in the area could have been obtained. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Plantae<br>2) 27/10/2020 in a strip of grass next to the train tracks near my house<br>3) I counted the number of different looking plants in a 2m x 2m area. I based the differences on leaf form, flowers, and overall morphology.<br>4) I found 6 different species, with a clover-looking species the most dominant (largest percentage cover).<br>5) It would be better if I knew the names of the different species instead of just eye-balling it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At home over the last week - white snapdragons<br>Effort was measured by the day, checked every morning<br>At first the flowers were fine and by day 3 few started showing signs of wilting, this rate exponentially increased until overnight it seemed like the whole last half of remaining flowers died<br>Almost kind of the opposite of the population count done in prac last week where the start was exponential then flattened. Would be interesting to measure the rate of blossoming at the start of a flowering period and maybe even measuring it at smalled time intervals (even day and night instead of 24hrs to get more accurate data)</div>]]></description>
