While reading my leveled reader, I learned some really interesting things! One thing that I learned is that another word for one full orbit is revolution. I also learned that not only does our atmosphere contain different gases, but those gases help control the weather. It reflects the light of the Sun to make it cooler, but it also traps the rays to make it hotter. When measuring the distance between the planets, we do not use miles or kilometers. We use AU's (Astronomical Units). This helps to measure a more average distance between the planets themselves. I can't wait to continue learning about our solar system!

I learned that because of Earth's speed day follows night quickly. The second thing that i learned is that when the Earth tilts that's what makes up the seasons. Third, is that because all the planets are so far away the units of measure work have on Earth don't work. Fourth, is that it takes more than 365 day to for Earth to go around the sun. Finally, the last one is that commits are made of ice and asteroids are rock.

I learned that tiny asteroids sometimes orbit around bigger asteroids, which I think is pretty interesting. I also learned that the moon is in charge of the high and low tides. Another thing I learned is that Venus has an atmosphere made up of poisonous gases. I thought that it was interesting how the atmosphere reflects rays of the sun, but it also traps the rays. I also learned that our measurements are to small to measure the distance between planet to planet, so we use AU's (Astronomical Units). I find space very interesting and I love learning about it.

I learned from the leveled reader that scientists measure the distance in between planets using AUs. Also, the axis is an imaginary line that stretches across the planet. Space Probes are spacecraft that gather data from space without anyone aboard to run them. Comets are icy, dusty masses that orbit around the sun. Comets also have 2 tails that can grow up to 80 million kilometers long. The leveled reader was actually very interesting and helpful! Thanks, Ms. Quarles!!

Gravity also keeps the moon orbiting around earth.
