To assess students’ ability to engage in an interactive speaking task (role-play) by using expressions of apology, making suggestions, and proposing solutions with appropriate intonation, fluency, and vocabulary.

Task (Student Instructions)

You will work with a classmate to perform a role-play. One of you will act as a student who forgot to do a group assignment. The other will react to the situation. Your conversation must include:

A greeting

An explanation of what happened

An apology and expression of feelings

A discussion about how to solve the issue

A final agreement on what to do next

- Explaining what happened
- Expressing feelings (e.g., disappointment, apology)
- Discussing possible solutions
- Agreeing on a plan

You will be evaluated on your fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, interaction, and grammar. You will have 2 minutes to prepare and 8–10 minutes to perform the conversation.

Now that you know the context of the role-play, it's time for you to work with your classmate and make a video dramatizing the conversation described above. When you and your partner have the video ready, you should post it on this wall on Padlet.
