”Partly cloudy” is one of the many short animated films from the well known studio of Pixar. This one is no different from the others in its art style, with the 3D animation. Partly cloudy also emphasizes on a lot of emotion, which is no different from Pixar’s other projects. It also relies only on visuals to tell the story, there is no dialogue at all, which any fan of the writing aspect of filmmaking will be a fan of.

Short film review - Partly Cloudy. Partly Cloudy is a short film brought to you by Pixar Animated Studios. A sweet little film. It’s about the relationship between storks and clouds, whereas the clouds create babies of different species and the storks deliver them. The main character is a cloud, Nimbus I think his name is, who only creates problematic and sometimes dangerous animals. He’s ashamed of this, especially when he sees the other clouds ”give birth” to fluffy puppies and eugenics-perfect human babies. There’s an underlying fear of his stork companion leaving him for a less problematic cloud, which he eventually does. Themes to be found here include the value of friendship, fitting in and working around problems.

It is a story that works because of it´s simplicity, right away we can understand and empathize with the main characters.

It doesn´t need any overly sentimental exchanges between the main characters ,the problem that our characters face is a lot more similar to a simple disagreement.

Because of its length we also don´t have anytime to go in depth with the motive of the characters, the animation is however all we need as the the faces and movements are very expressive.

Because of its simplicity it´s best suited for younger audiences, mature people can still respect and enjoy the creativity and work that went into the animation, however it´s not for everyone.

Movie Review: Partly Cloudy (2009) by Pixar Animations

Partly Cloudy is an animated short film directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Kevin Reher. The movie begins with storks delivering cute cuddly babies and puppies to homes around town. We then get to know that the ones making the babies are Bright beautiful clouds. Later we get introduced to a grey cloud named Gus. Gus has a stork delivering his babies, but the only problem Is that Gus only can make dangerous animals such as Alligators and porcupines. This becomes quite an issue as the stork repeatedly gets injured by the animals that the grey cloud produces.

I watched the Pixar short film Partly Cloudy. The film is about five minutes long. The film is very sad but at the same time a little funny but its not all sad. It got happy parts too so I would say the films genre is comedy and drama. It is not part of a series, but it is a part of Pixars short film series. I would say the short film is for all ages, everyone can enjoy it. Mostly kids but adults to, and everyone can learn from the short film.

Partly cloudly is a shortfilm for children about clouds that all makes different human and animal babies, where storks delivers them to the right places. Different clouds makes different babies, but there is one particular cloud we get to follow, and he is a little bit special. Among all the other white clouds, he is a grey cloud, and he gets to make all the dangerous animal babies. His stork friend is supposed to deliver all these dangerous animals, but it gets a bit complicated since he gets hurt every time he is going to deliver them.

I saw the film Partly Cloudy. The short, five minutes long film was made by Pixar. In the film you get to know where the babies the storks deliver are made. You get to see the clouds who makes the cuddly babies, and how the storks cheerfully deliver them to their homes. The grey and emotional cloud Gus, otherwise, only knows how to create "dangerous" babies like crocodiles, porcupines, rams and other babies, who are a threat for his stork Peck to deliver. The genre is comedy and fantasy.

It’s targeted to younger people but anyone could watch it since it has a really nice meaning. In short, the movie is about a cloud called Nimbus and a stork. All the clouds make cute baby animals and babies and the storks deliver them to their homes. But Nimbus only makes dangerous animals like sharks.

I watched the Pixar short film Partly cloudy. This comedy/drama film is about five minuets long. It’s not part of a series but it goes along with the theme of the other Pixar short films. I feel like this is a short film that everyone can watch, especially the whole family together. I think children appreciates it more but adults can definitely enjoy it as well. Most of the pixar short films are quit similar but has different storys, and they are often funny. I think that their aim with most of these short films is to educate small children on how to behave.

Partly cloudy review - The short film ”Partly Cloudy” by pixar is a five minute story about a cloud separated from the crowd of other clouds. The film mainly relies on it’s constant focus of separation and small glimpses of friendship. And eventually in the end, that we are all adaptable to be the same. Pixar has made several short films like this one and you will find it interesting that they all have the ”society criticism” theme. Not in an extreme manner but the message is quite clear. That is what you will find in this film. It is a rough yet kind story about the meanings of friendship.

For this exercise I have watched Partly Cloudy, a 2009 Pixar short shown in theatres before the film Up. Partly Cloudy tells a story about a cloud who creates dangerous animals to be delivered to their parents and his friend, a stork who delivers the animal babies. All the other clouds and storks are very happy with their jobs, delivering cute human and animal babies, but the main characters are not very happy. The main character stork always gets beaten up by the dangerous animals the cloud creates and this makes the cloud feel bad.

The short film’s about clouds making babies to the birds that deliver them to their parents. All the clouds make harmless babies except for one cloud, a grey and sad cloud. The grey and sad cloud can only make dangerous animals that hurts the bird and the bird gets more and more hurt from the different animals.

I think that it’s a really cute story but also really captivating and sad because of the grey cloud. It dosen’t really have a genre. The characters are very likable, especially the cloud, just because it really does try its hardest to do an good animal. It has a really good structure and it’s easy to follow the plot even if they don’t talk, their facial expressions and gesture are really clear. The message is probably that you’re good in your own way.

I felt sad because of the cloud and happy because of the bird getting an armor. The part where the bird flew away really got me because of the clouds reaction. I thought it was really touching and cute. I can really recommend it.

There were good characters, not too many, and I liked that it was a bit sad, cause I like movies that makes me emotional and feel empathy.
It was also well drawn.
I don’t get why the same poor stork has to be stuck with the same ”bad” animals and the same cloud forever. Why couldn’t it be that all the birds switched clouds each time so it wouldn’t be such a burden for just one bird. It should be equal. Otherwise that bird is gonna like, die before the others just because he get to suffer everyday and loses his wings, get electric chocks etc.
