Can we aim to keep families together? I think that is the most important goal for social workers and the families involved. We can increase support for families experiencing conflict and education on the effects of family separation on their children.

Often time institutions do not put enough money, time or resources into meaningful professional development. Which often leads to unmet needs of the professionals. As well as low work moral and a decline in ethical work practices. This is a field that is ever changing due to the call of response to the needs of many diverse families. Meaningful and relevant professional development should always be a top priority. After all the workers are just as important if not more so.
